MS ACCESS VERSION COMPATIBILITY

This file must be read if your system uses MS Access 2.0 and before you
create a new database for Infothek or Docuthek.

If you have Microsoft Access 2.0 (or later) running on your computer,
some special consideration must be given to compatibility issues.
If you do not run Microsoft Access 2.0 on your computer, you can ignore
this text file.

If your MS Access 2.0 is running on your computer while you create a new
Infothek/Docuthek database, the new database will be in the Access 2.0 format.
This will create an incompatibility problem because the Infothek/Docuthek
database must be in the Access 1.1 format. (A version 2.0 database should be
available in the near future).

If you have the MS Access 2.0 software on your computer, but is not currently
running, Infothek/Docuthek will still create the version 2.0 format, because
certain MS Access program files may be active. If you have MS Access 2.0 on
your computer (whether running or not), make sure that you reboot the system
before you create a new database on Infothek/Docuthek. Also make sure that
the MS Access is not automatically activated in the start-up process.

If the compatibility issue persists, proceed as follows:

In your File Manager window, rename the MASTERDB.XXX to the name of your new
database, e.g. MYDATA.MDB. (The MASTERDB.XXX is an empty database in the
Access 1.1 format). In the Database Administration sub-system, create the
necessary tables for the new database.
