The file MFCSIM.EXE contains the Symantec C++ MFC SIM update, which includes the C++ code generator and associated files for use with Visual Programmer. This self-extracting archive has been uploaded by Symantec Corporation for registered users of their Symantec C++ 6.00 product. This is a self-extracting archive that contains several patch files and a batch file to perform the update. To install this update, you must have Symantec C++ Professional version 6.00 installed on your machine. You must have installed the patches contained in the file IDE-A5.EXE to use this patch. The difference between this file and the MFCSIM.EXE file is that this patch assumes the IDE-A5.EXE patch has been applied, whereas MFCSIM.EXE requires that the IDE-A5.EXE patch not have been applied. To install this patch: 1) Download the file IDE-A5.EXE and follow the instructions in IDE-A5.TXT (if you have done this previously, you need not do it again). 2) Download the file MFCSM2.EXE. 3) Run MFCSM2.EXE in the SC++ installation directory (C:\SC). Answer Y to any prompts that appear. 4) Run the batch file UPDATE.BAT. 5) If successful, .RTPatch will not report any errors 6) OPTIONAL: delete the files PATCH.EXE, UPDATE.BAT, SIMNEW.EXE, *.RTP, MFCSM2.EXE, and README.TXT
