Microsoft Windows NT, Beta October 1992 Problem Printing to Hewlett-Packard DeskJet Printers System Error 21 The Microsoft Windows NT product group has recently identified a printing problem on some systems when printing to Hewlett-Packard DeskJet, DeskJet Plus and DeskJet 500 printers from Windows NT. Error 21 is known to occur when attempting to print unless the printer was powered off when the system was booted. The problem occurs due to a failure on the part of the parallel port driver to reset if the printer is turned on at initialization of Windows NT. If you print to one of the aforementioned printers, you may encounter this problem. If you encounter this problem, please take the following steps to replace the driver as instructed below. We appreciate our customers efforts in reporting problem areas and encourage you to continue working with us to improve the product.
