What's new in version 3.11
Note: this information not yet in the program documentation.
1. Press the right mouse button to activate a pop up menu for frequently used items.
2. You can create comments for students in your class and optionally have them print on the Progress Report and Progress Summary. You can have up to 50 standard comments to choose from, or type in custom comments for each student.
3. You can view a student's average with 15 significant digits. Useful for breaking a tie for an honors award etc..
4. Improved layout of many reports. An attendance detail option on progress reports.
5. A bug fix where the enable mail merge option in documents was not being saved between sessions.
6. You can export class data for use by other programs such as Microsoft Access.
7. The screen is automatically resized if your monitor is set to a higher resolution than 640 X 480
8. You can record and print deportment grades.
9. When entering a score, you can enter the number of points missed on the assignment as well as the number of points earned. To enter the number of points missed, enter a negative number. The number will be converted to the raw score when you press enter to accept the entry, based on the maximum points for that assignment. If an assignment is set up as 20 points maximum, and you enter a score of -3, the score will be converted to 17, and the grade will be 85.0%. Entering a -3 or a +17 will yield exactly the same result.
10. Seating Charts. You can create, print and save seating charts for your classes (up to 64 seats per chart). Select Students/Seating Chart from the main menu.
a) Change the rows & cols. To reset the "desks" in you room.
b) Select a desk by clicking on in with the mouse.
c) Use the arrow keys to move the selected desks around to more accurately represent your classroom. Move desks together to make tables, etc.
d) Press the Random button to populate the desks at random, or the Order button to populate by whatever order is currently selected in the Students List.
e) Cut and paste using the scissors and clipboard icons, drag and drop from the Students List, or just type in new names to change your chart.
f) Press Print to print your seating chart and Save to save it to disk.
g) Press OK to return to the main screen.

NEW GRADING OPTIONS:
There are two new options that affect the way your grades are calculated. These options are located in the class set-up/edit screen, and they are "Use Category Weighting" and "Use Assignment Point Weighting". Combining these options gives the following results.
1. Category Weighting = OFF, Point Weighting = OFF: If you select this combination all assignments are counted equally in determining the overall average, regardless of category weight definitions or assignment point values.
2. Category Weighting = ON, Point Weighting = OFF: All assignments count equally in determining the category average. Categories averages are given their weighted values to determine the overall average. (This is the previous default method)
3. Category Weighting = OFF, Point Weighting = ON: The overall average is determined by weighting the assignments according to their point values.
4. Category Weighting = ON, Point Weighting = ON: The assignments are weighted by their point values to determine the category average. The categories are then given their weighted values to determine the overall average.
