Known Problems
--------------
There are some installation problems with the WinKaraoke Creator setup program that are giving people trouble.

1) People don't see a staff, but see a ? and an & and ====== instead.

2) People get a "Runtime Error 380" when trying to load a file.

These errors are apparantly being caused by the improper installation of the two fonts required for the program.

MUSICAL.TTF is the MusicalSymbols TrueType font that WinKaraoke Creator uses to display the staff and the notes. If it is not in the Windows\Fonts directory, the ? and & and === will be shown instead.

ARIAL.TTF is the Arial TrueType font. I assumed that people had this font installed by default with Windows 95... Now, it is installed with the program.

I have not been able to accurately reproduce the problem on my machine, so the above causes are my best guess as to WHY this occurs.

If this happens to YOU, try the following:

1) Restart Windows. It may be that the font simply has not been recognized yet. Restarting will force Windows to refresh the directory.

2) UNinstall the program from Start, Conrol Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Then, reinstall the program and try again.

3) Or, manually install the fonts. I have left the two fonts uncompressed in the WINK-C11.ZIP archive. Unzip MUSICAL.TTF and ARIAL.TTF (not MUSICAL.TT_ or ARIAL.TT_ which is for the Setup program) into a temporary directory. Go into Control Panel, Fonts, and choose Install New Font in the menu. Go to the temporary directory with MUSICAL.TTF and ARIAL.TTF and choose the fonts. Make sure they are copied to the Windows\Fonts directory.
