1. System Requirements:
To run Ringo's Desktop Helper, you will need Windows 95 or Windows NT4.0 installed on
your computer. As of the writing of this file, Ringo's Desktop helper has not been tested on
Windows NT4.0, but it should run just fine. Recommended system: Pentium or higher processor with
at least 16MB RAM. To make thumbnails of a large directory, you will need a good bit of RAM to
not be annoyed at how long it takes.
You will also need about 15 MB of hard disk space to accomidate temporary files. The
installed program will not take up nearly this amount of space.
2. Installation:
To install, unzip the file 'deskhelp.zip' into a temporary directory. You will need an
unzipping program such as pkunzip.exe or winzip to do this (you can download free copies of each
from the internet). Run the program 'setup.exe'. This should install all of the necessary files
on your computer. Then just run the executable file 'deskhelp.exe' from whatever directory you
installed it to. Once you know the program runs OK, you can delete all of the files from the
temporary directory.

3. Registration:
Ringo's desktop helper is shareware. You are free to download it and use it for a trial
period of fourteen days, at which time you must either register it as described below or remove
it from your system. Once you are registered, you will be eligible to download free of charge
updates and any random bug-fixes (bugs? what bugs?).
To register and continue using the program legally after the fourteen day
evaluation period, see http://www.hypermart.net/ringo for online registration (if availible) or
send a check or money order payable to Jim Ringelspaugh for $25 U.S. funds to:

Once your payment is received, I will send you the code to disable the nag screens and buttons.
In order to do this, please include your name, address, and/or e-mail address (if applicable),
so that I can send you the code. Your name and e-mail will be kept in the strictest confidence;
they will never leave my office. Alternatively, you can print out the file 'order.txt' and send
it in to the same address as above.
