-------------
 1. Overview
-------------

Namo WebEditor Version 1.1 is a 32-bit HTML editor that runs on
Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. It supports perfect WYSIWYG
editing features and intuitive UI. If you are tired of complex
HTML tags, this is the product for you.

Namo WebEditor' interface is designed more for beginners
than expert users. Simple commands and frequent commands can be
accessed through toolbars which are customizable easily.
Every HTML tag related works can be done by clicking the commands
in menu, so you can forget the presence of the complicated
HTML tags. Moreover editing can be done almost
    by right-mouse-click menu.

Even beginners can create and edit frames and tables not knowing
the HTML tags related to them. You may feel that you are using
word processor while editing Web pages. Table, cell, and frame
window resize can be done with mouse click and dragging.
The editing of the Web page in the frame is done within frame
    window.

For the expert users there's advanced features.
Namo WebEditor lets you view and edit the HTML source in
separate window from the WYSIWYG window and the change can be
reflected to WYSIWYG window directly. Invoking the HTML source
view shows you the syntax colored editing window and moreover the
cursor is placed just at the tag which you are editing in WYSIWYG
    window.

The Java script are considered related to the form. In form dialog
you can put the java script with ease. The simple Java script
editing features are presented. The unrecognized tags and
attributes in a tag are saved and can be edited everywhere.
The tag related dialog boxes have a button to view and edit the
    unknown attributes.

Of course the preview with external browsers are supported. Though
this feature is seldom used, because the layout of the tags are
too similar to that of Netscape browser. You may need this feature
only for final check before publishing. Publishing your Web page
is simple and convenient. The file names, publishing location,
user name and password are kept in publish dialog and restore on
publishing. This makes you just click the publish button in the
    dialog after selecting publish menu.

----------
 2. Goals
----------

  * Satisfy all the users of different levels. Beginners who know Web
pages but don't know much about HTML tags or can't memorize and
use all the tags, and intermediate users as well.

  * Help personal web home page makers or home page designers build
their home pages as if word-processing and without having to
    memorize the complex HTML tags.

  * A compact and powerful Web editor. The existing web editors in the
market are big and have extra functions. These take too much
install space and require extensive study to use.

  * Supporting HTML 3.2 specification of W3C.

  * Reliable WYSIWYG. If a Web editor is WYSIWYG, the layout should be
exactly matched to a Web browser. If not, multiple annoying check
    through browsers are needed.

  * Supporting various language codes including Double Bytes and
    Character Sets (DBCS).

-----------------
 3. Key Features
-----------------

  * Perfect WYSIWYG
We have tried to make the layout of the edited document in Namo
WebEditor similar to that of Web browsers (especially Netscape
Navigator). Please compare the screen of Namo WebEditor and the
    Netscape.

  * On-Spot Image Map Editing function
You can make and modify image maps directly in the editing window.

  * Easy Table Editing UI
The product helps users edit tables for various layouts quickly
and easily. It supports the height and width of tables and cells.
Only the simple drag by the mouse can size the cell or the table.

  * Frame Editing
Frame cannot be a exception to the WYSIWYG. On this stage, users
set the size of a frame manually and check it on the Web browsers,
you can make frame set files directly on the editing window.
Of course editing in the frame is also possible.

  * Multi level Undo and Redo
Undo and Redo functions of Namo WebEditor is better than that of
FrontPage97 or Netscape 4.0 composer. There's no limit on the
    level of Undo and Redo.

  * Source Editing Window and WYSIWYG Editing Window

be enough for various tag editing.

intermediate users, and various shortcut keys for advanced users
    are supported.

 4. Useful Tips
----------------

Please read this part, it includes very useful tips.
If you remember these functions, you don't have to use the manual.

 1. Open Multi Documents (Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 above)
This Document Choice can be used to select multiple files and
those files are read in to multiple Edit Windows.
Shortcut Keys are at File Open dialog box:
    <Ctrl+A>: Select all files
<Ctrl+ Mouse Click>: Select clicked files or Unselect clicked
                          files
<Shift+ mouse Click>: Select files from selection bar to clicked
                          file.

 2. Load Last Editing Documents
You can use this option to load documents when Namo WebEditor
starts, that were edited the last time. You can set this option on
or off at the [File -Preferences - Editor tab] dialog box.

 3. Tabbed Documents Style Multi-Documents Editing Environment
An editor needs a structure to a support multi-documents editing
environment, because HTML documents include many hyperlinks in
them. Namo WebEditor uses "Tabbed Document Style Multi-Documents
Editing User Interface", which utilizes the maximum space of the
editing window and makes it easy to move from one document to the
other with a click of the mouse. Also, you can do this by using
<Ctrl+Tab> and <Shift+Ctrl+Tab> as shortcut keys. And you can
rearrange the order of the tab of each documents by using [Window
    - Arrange Documents].

When Namo WebEditor starts, it reloads automatically all the
documents which you have used lately and remembers the latest
    caret position of each document.

 4. Current Caret Position Display at Source View (F6) Window
If you use [View Source] command or the F6 shortcut key, the caret
is displayed at the current editing position in the text editing
window. In this window, if you want to go to the beginning/end of
document, press <Ctrl+Home> / <Ctrl+End>. You can change the tag
directly in this text editing window.

Netscape Editor or FrontPage97 starts at the beginning of the source
regardless of current cursor position, so you need to find the
    cursor position manually.

In the text editing window, <Ctrl+Del> deletes a word and
<Ctrl+Backspace> deletes a former word from the current caret
position. [File - Print Preview] also starts from the page with
    the current caret position.

 5. Multiple Step Undo (Ctrl+Z) / Redo (Alt+Z)
Maximum 200 steps of Undo and Redo are available in each
documents. So you don't have to worry about your mistakes while
    you are editing a document.

 6. Image Map Editing Function
If you want to link to a part of an image, you should do image
map editing. In Namo WebEditor, when you select a image file, the
image map editing buttons will show on the toolbar. If you use
these buttons, you don't have to use an extra image map editing
    program.

 7. Merge List (F8) / Split List (Shift+F8)
In editing Numbered Lists, the numbers are not in the order you
want occasionally. Use [Format-Merge List] command to reorder the
    lists.

Some target lists can not be merged. This is because a paragraph
before or after the target paragraph has been indented and (<ul>
is inserted) compared with it. Please increase the indentation of
the paragraphs by using [Format-Increase Indent] <Ctrl+F6> on it
and merge lists [Format-Merge List]. If you use the [Format-Split
List] command, you can start with new numbers in the later part
    of the split list.

 8. Copy and Attach & Cut and Attach on clipboard
Copy and Cut updates the contents of the Clipboard. In other
words, once you have copied or cut, the contents of the Clipboard
are written over. Because Copy Append or Cut Append retains the
contents you have copied or cut, you can continue appending items
as much as you want. Select items by pressing the <Shift> click
Copy button on the toolbar to copy and append, or click the Cut
button on the toolbar to cut and append. You can use shortcut
keys <Ctrl+Shift+C> for copy and Attach, or <Ctrl+Shift+X> to cut
    and attach.

 9. Window Width
Some beginners seldom consider how their HTML documents will be
shown in various size window. In this case Namo WebEditor
prepares various window widths; you can choose from the following
window widths on the [View - Window Width] menu: [640x480,
800x600, A4, Letter, Printer Default Paper]. These widths apply
only to display. Therefore if you set the option to Letter, the
    printer follows the printer setup.

10. Format Mark
If you set a table's border thickness to 0, the outlines of cells
are not displayed and it is not convenient to edit a table. In
this case, if you set on [View - Format Mark], the hidden
outlines of cells are displayed with dashed line. Likewise, with
setting on [View -Format Mark], 'hidden cell outline', 'bookmark',
'list start', 'comment', 'image', 'script', 'applet' and 'unknown
tab' format marks will be shown.

11. Move to the Previous Caret Position (Ctrl+Q, P) & Move to the
End of the Word (Ctrl+numeric key pad 5)
If you moved the caret to an unwanted position, you can easily
move it back to the previous position with <Ctrl+Q, P>. Also, you
can move the caret to the end of the word with <Ctrl+numeric key
    pad 5>

12. Reading text files and saving text files
If you open an ASCII text file in a Web browser, the whole file
will be shown as a paragraph and it is difficult to read. It's
because there is no <p> or <br> tag in a normal text file. In Namo
    WebEditor, you can choose the text file reading mode from;
recognizing carriage return (CR) or linefeed (LF) mode, normal text
mode or auto detecting HTML mode.

13. Clear All Attributes of Text Button
You can clear all the attributes (related tags) of the selected
text or current caret position at once. If you have made mistakes
when using this button, use the Undo button.

14. Popup Context Menu
Before you select menu, please click the right mouse button.
A popup menu for editing will appear.

15. Fixing the table width first and entering cell widths later
Usually cell widths are fixed as fractions of the table's width.
If the table width is not fixed first, cells can not be displayed
normally. If the cell widths conflict with table widths, cell
    widths are not effective.
