INTRODUCTION
------------
TrayIcon Works is a utility which displays the current month, day
of the month, and date of the week in the System Tray of the Taskbar.
You can select to display all these three items or any combination
in any order you wish (ideal for foreign users who use different
date format than the U.S standard). This comes in handy when you
need to know the date immediately. Sure, you could leave the mouse
over the digital clock in the lower right corner of the icon tray,
and wait a couple of seconds, but I found it's not too inconvinient.
It's nice to see the date/time at a glance any given time.

The 2nd major function of TrayIcon Works is the ability to send a
series of keystrokes to most windows (notice that I say *most*
because TrayIcon Works may not work with certain window. TrayIcon
Works mouse macros function has been tested with NotePad for Windows
95, TextPad 1.30 (32-bit Edition), Winword 7.0, Microsoft Exchange
4.0, Netscape 3.0, and Eurora Pro 3.0). This is very handy if you
frequently log into anonymous FTP site: simply program 1 the
TrayIcon Works' icons to "anonymous" and the 2nd icon to a login
password (usually your e-mail password), with 2 simple mouse clicks,
you save yourself dozens of keystrokes. I used this function to
send my login name and password in my home banking sesssions (of
course I'm the only one who use my computer, if you have more than
one users who use your machine or your computer is not secured, you
may not want to do this). You can define up to 9 icons for sending
keystrokes to any window (I may add more if there's a demand for
this, but I think 9 key macros should be enough for most users).

TrayIcon Works also allows you to quickly launch Explorer from any
folder of your choice or quickly open a DOS window (for those of you
who are still nostagic of the venerable DOS commands) with a single
mouse click. You can further launch a default DOS command processor
(COMMAND.COM) or any other shell (such as NDOS). Simply type the
name of the desired command processor in the "Command Shell" box or
use the file list box to search for one.

What else? with TrayIcon Works, you can instantly launch your
default screen saver (in case you're away from your PC and want to
invokde a password-protected screen saver so no one can peek at what
you're doing...) with without having to wait for the elapsed time or
move your mouse pointer to a certain position of the screen (certain
screen savers allow you to position your mouse pointer at any of the
4 corners of the screen to instantly invoke the default screen saver).

Everything is always right there and accessible with a single mouse
click. What a handy set of utilities. I hope you agree with me.

TrayIcon Works is a small program written in Microsost Visual Basic
4.0 (32-bit edition), and takes up a virtually insignificant amount
of system resources.

---------
OPERATION
---------
The date function is pretty self-explanatory and you probably don't
need much instruction on how to use it. Simply launch the software
and the current month, date of the month, and day of the week will
appear to the left of the digital clock in the system tray. If you
wish to display only the month, day of the month, and/or date of
the week, simply right click on the date icons to bring up the
custom menu. There you can select which item(s) to display.

The 2nd major function of TrayIcon Works is the ability to send a
series of keystrokes to most windows (notice that I say *most*
because TrayIcon Works may not work with certain windows. The mouse
macros function has been tested with NotePad for Windows 95, TextPad
1.30 (32-bit Edition), Winword 7.0, Microsoft Exchange 4.0, Netscape
3.0, and Eurora Pro 3.0). To use the mouse macros launcher function,
click on one of the macro icons (if at least one is present) or first
bring up the custom menu and click on the "Keys Macros" tab, type in
the keystrokes you want each of the 9 icons to send when you click on
them. Keep in mind that only defined macros will appear in the system
tray. When you hover your mouse over one of these macro icons, the
actual keystrokes for that icon will display. To use the macros,
first click the "reset" icon (the icon to the left of the macro icons),
then click on the location of the window where you want the text to,
then click on one of the 9 macro icons. You don't have to click on
this "reset" icon every time before you click on the macro icons but
you do if you want to send keystrokes to a different window or to a
different field in the same window (because each field even in the
same window has its own thread and process ID, we need a unique thread
and ID to send the keystrokes to, otherwise, TrayIcon Works will send
the keystrokes to the same field even if you click on a different
field first).

With TrayIcon Works, you can quickly launch Explorer or a DOS window
with a single mouse click. You can even make Explorer start from any
folder, simply type in the full folder drive and path in the "Start
Folder" box or use the provided directory navigator (the yellow folder)
to select the desired start folder. Similarly, you can start a DOS
window in any directory, simply type in the full drive and path in the
"Default Path" box or use the provided directory navigator to select the
the desired start directory.
