1. Installation
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

After you have un-zipped count10.zip, you should have three new files:
COUNT.EXE (the Windows executable), COUNT.TXT (the one you are
reading now), and MSAFINX.DLL (a file required by Countdown).

To place Countdown in a Windows group, select the group you want to put
it in, then from Program Manager, select File | New. Select "Program
Item" and click "OK". Type in the path of Countdown (ie.
C:\COOLSTUF\COUNT.EXE) in the "Command Line" text box and click "OK".
Windows will default the new item's description to "Count" and the icon
to the Countdown icon. You can change these by clicking once on the
Countdown icon and hitting Alt-Enter.

IMPORTANT: THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES VBRUN300.DLL!! You can get it at:
<http://www.netins.net/showcase/mikewrld/program.html>. There is a link
for vbrun300.dll near the top of the page. After you download vbrun300,
you need to place it in your system directory (usually \WINDOWS\SYSTEM).

2. Using the program
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Before you start, you need to place MSAFINX.DLL in your system
directory (usually \WINDOWS\SYSTEM).

To start Countdown, double-click on the icon. First, you will probably
want to change the date to count down to. To do that, click the
Configure button. Now move the scroll bars up and down to the date of
your choice and type in a description (ie. "My birthday"). If you want
to save more than one date, click the combo box near the bottom, and
select an empty spot. Repeat the above steps until you have entered the
dates you want (there is a maximum of 5). Finally, click the "OK" button
to save all your dates.

Now, click the right mouse button anywhere on the form (or press Alt-M
on the keyboard) to bring up the pop-up menu. This allows you to pick
how to count down to the date. You might want to just try out each one
to see which one you like. The coolest one is "All". Via the "Countdown
to:" menu item, you can also pick from the date you saved earlier. The
program will automatically save the selected date and the method of
counting down for the next time you start the program. To exit the
program, click "Quit!!!"

3. Where to get Countdown
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

You get Countdown via World-Wide-Web at:
<http://www.netins.net/showcase/mikewrld/program.html>. There are also
other programs that I have written. Some are pointless, but there are a
few cool ones (including a funky screen saver).

4. And finally...

ENJOY THIS PROGRAM!
