Use Of PFE In Commercial Environments ------------------------------------- If you are a private individual, or a non-commercial organisation (such as a university, charity or school) you may make unlimited use of PFE for any purpose. However, if you use PFE as part of your work in a commercial environment, you need to pay a small one-time licence fee to me. The amount is not yet finalised, but is likely to be on a sliding scale running from 25 pounds sterling for use on a single machine, up to 250 pounds sterling for use on any number of machines. The fee will cover use of the current test series 0.xx.xxx and the first release series 1.xx.xxx Details of the amount of the licence payment, and of how to pay, will be included in the next release. As I develop PFE as a hobby, and will not permit it to become any form of work, I will not offer any form of support in return, and I will ask for a suitable company officer to sign a short agreement to make sure that this is clearly understood and to keep the legal situation clear. Until I have finalised the details commercial organisations may make use of PFE; once the details are published, though, the licence requirement will apply to all versions, even those existing currently. ----- Software developers who may want to adapt PFE for inclusion into their own products are welcome to contact me for details of a source licence.
