Digital Office Systems Microsoft's new Digital Office Systems group is designing and developing new communications products which will set a new standard for the industry. Our group is small, entrepreneurial, and committed to designing, building, and shipping great products. We are looking for people who share our vision for communications products to join us. Currently we have openings for qualified -Software Design Engineers: If you have 3+ years experience writing operating systems or applications using C and/or Assembly we want to hear from you. We are particularly interested in developers with experience developing device drivers, network protocols, graphics or imaging software, and working with GDI. Windows development experience is preferred. A BS/MS in Computer Science is also preferred. -Software Design Engineers in Test: We are looking for developers with 2+ years experience writing C code to writer automated test suites for our products. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of a low level MS-DOS or Windows debugger, MS Test, or similar test tool. Previous experience writing and implementing test suites is preferred. A BS/MS in Computer Science is also preferred. -Project Development Managers: Primary responsibilities include driving all aspects of product development from design and implementation through release of new digital communications product. Additional responsibilities include writing product functional specifications, and defining how functionality is to be implemented by engineering teams. This includes driving products through development, testing, user education, localization and other internal and external groups, while owning the schedule and ensuring that the team ships product on time. Qualifications should include a minimum of 2 years software development experience, a minimum of 2 years project management experience driving all aspects of product development from inception to release. A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred. -Product Managers: Primary responsibilities include participation in planning and implementing marketing and communication strategies for advanced digital communications and intelligent appliance projects. This includes helping to create top level positioning, defining and implementing marketing programs (including joint advertising campaigns); arranging presentations at high profile industry conferences (Comdex, Winworld, etc.), developing and maintaining relationships with key industry publications, editors, and writers; and working with other Microsoft departments to develop consistent marketing themes and strategies. Qualifications should include a minimum of 1 year product management experience, and relevant experience shipping software products. A BS/MS in Computer Science preferred.
