Thank you for downloading the trial version of WebDrive. To install webdrive just
run the wdtrial.exe executable file. This will install WebDrive into a directory
of your choosing.

When the installation completes you will be prompted to restart your system. You
need to restart your system before using WebDrive.

======================================================================================
Important Information
======================================================================================

* If you get an error when your system starts up or when running the webdrive application
  stating that VBOXP410.DLL can't be found, then the WebDrive install didn't complete
  successfully. This is most likely the result of a Virus on your system, please scan
  your system for a virus and reinstall WebDrive.

* When upgrading from version 1.3 or earilier of WebDrive you will need to remap your
  persistent connections because of the new UNC support in WebDrive. Select
  "connect at login (make persistent)" from the site properties tab.

* ZipMagic - Don't enable ZipMagic on a drive letter mapped to an FTP site using
  WebDrive. This will result in a system hang if you attempt to perform a 'CD'
  into a ZIP file.

* WINSOCK 2 Update from Microsoft - If you are running Windows 95, we reccomend installing
  the winsock 2 update from microsoft. This fixes a number of problems relating to
  the Microsoft TCP/IP stack and Winsock components. The setup file can be downloaded
  from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/download/ws2setup.exe. For more
  information about this update, please visit the Microsoft Winsock2 update page at
  http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/info/ws2.htm

New features since WebDrive Version 2.0
======================================================================================

* Make connections persistent check box on site properties general tab. This enables
  you to specify that a connection should be automatically connected at system startup.
  This is much easier to use than the previous map network drive option.

* Transfer files on a separate FTP connection. This allows you to use the explorer
  and change directories while a file is being transferred. This is enabled via the
  webdrive connections/settings/general tab.

* Connect persistent drives as disconnected initially. Restores all persistent WebDrive
  connections in a disconnected state. The drives will show up in explorer as
  disconnected. To connect, simply double click the drive. This is very useful for
  dialup connections and eliminates the need to run the WebDrive application to
  connect to a server.

* OS/2 Warp and OS/2 Hethman brothers FTP Server support.

* Raptor firewall support (gwpasswd).

* Open the Explorer in folder view. This is how WebDrive version 1.3 opened the explorer.

* When disconnecting a drive, the monitor application closes automatically.

* VMS enhancements to support rename into a different folder, delete all file versions,
  and removing directories.

======================================================================================
Fixes since version 2.0
======================================================================================

* Socks server fix for IP address returned of 0.0.0.0

* PASV support for SOCKS firewalls.

* Passive file transfer would timeout for large files

* Progress monitor for files > 42 MB now displays correctly.

* FTP upload could timeout on slow connections.

* When "Use Dir Attributes" or "All files readonly" were enabled, explorer would
  recurse loading subdirectories.

* VMS Server fixes for renaming to a different folder, del ;* to delete all versions.

* SSH port redirect now works. You can use TTSSH to redirect your control connection
  to encrypt your username/password information.

* File progress meter wouldn't always be updated during a file transfer on T1
  connections.

* Fixed explorer hang when using persistent connections under Windows 98 and opening
  an explorer window after logging on.

* Fixed occasional GPF while disconnecting or selecting abort under Windows 98.

======================================================================================
New features from WebDrive 1.3 to 2.0
======================================================================================

* Performance improvements for uploading and downloading files.

* Microsoft proxy server 2.0 support with Socks protocol.

* Socks version 4.3 and 5.0 support.

* Time Zone Setting to allow for FTP servers that reside in a different time zone. This
  setting is useful when creating files to keep the date/time in synch with the server.

* Change to the way drives show up in explorer. The WebDrive(X) is now replaced by
  simply "Connection Name". This means that persistent connections will need to be
  replaced. Simply select map network drive again from WebDrive, and select "reconnect
  at logon".

* UNC Support - WebDrive now supports UNC file notation. You can now refer to a file on
  the Microsoft FTP server as "\\Microsoft\X\dirmap.txt".

* Set permissions on newly create directories by using .dir notation in file attributes
  dialog.

* Use read only attributes on server listing to make files read only.

* Monitor application can now display a dialog when a FTP error occurs trasnferring a file.

* WebDrive command line parameters to connect/disconnect to a FTP server.

* WDLS command line utilitly now supports command line options for flushing directory or
  file cache. Run wdls /? for full details.

======================================================================================
Fixes for this release
======================================================================================

* Year 98/99 problem fixed for Unix servers with files that are not yet 6 months old.

* Dragging a file in explorer to make a copy of it will now work correctly.

* Rename from explorer when dragging a file to a different folder on same drive didn't
  always work right.

* Files in hidden directories with Microsoft IIS now show up as files instead of
  directories.

* Fixed problem that if auto file type transfer mode was not enabled, then all transfers
  would be in ASCII.

* Fixed bug in Unix and VMS directory listings that caused files to not appear when a TAB
  character was in the directory listing.

* When a dialup connection is lost and re-connected, WebDrive will now use the new IP
  address when establishing a data connection for file transfer.

* Fixed extra socket connection to FTP server that was left open.

* Fixed bug that when a file existed in cache, and certain applications opened the file
  for writing, the file was not truncated properly which would result in the file on the
  server being corrupted.

* Fixed access denied error when pasting a file that already exists through explorer.

* Fixed problems related to opening or transferring multiple files at the same time.

* Fixed occaisonal page fault when disconnecting a drive.

* Fixed GPF when using the "move" command from MS-DOS.

* Fixes to WDLS command line dir utility.

* Fixed Win98 crash problem with selecting flush or disconnect from the Windows
  explorer.

* Fixed cache size bug that would cause files to be flushed from cache prematurely.

* Now allow '\' as a valid character in username and password strings.

======================================================================================
Known Limitiations
======================================================================================

* Windows NT is not currently supported, an NT version is currently in development.

* Currently only Unix, NT, VMS, Macintosh, Novell, AS/400, and FTP servers that adhere to
  the UNIX or DOS directory listing format are supported. If you have problems getting a
  directory listing from a server or the directory appears empty, WebDrive probably doesn't
  understand the directory listing format. Please contact RiverFront Software and send us
  the URL so we can add support for it's directory format.
