*** FFT PROPERTIES 3.0 README **************
********************************************

Frequency analyzer with 8 parallel channels. The signals are loaded from files. The build in signal generator offers an easy and quick way to learn about the properties of FFT and to gain the fundamental insight in to digital signal processing and analysis. The application also offers extensive capabilities for quick analysis of real world signals. This includes advanced auto-scaling features, serial printing, FIR filters and extensive formatting capabilities. Especially useful for applications in pattern recognition and everywhere where huge amounts of data need to be quickly analyzed with report generation.
Very interesting results can be obtained if peak interpolation feature is enabled and large overlapping is used (over 95%). The tehnique makes strong argument against Cohen's general class of time-frequency distributions (Wigner-Ville type) while offering very good frequency, time, phase and amplitude resolution and above all: no artifacts. Although wavelets are considered to be de facto standard in time-frequency analysis, it should be noted that even wavelet packet analysis has been surpassed in some areas of application, by this method. This is especially true because of true frequency and time information instead of scale and shift offered by wavelets. The property that is mandatory when performing measurements in physics.
