  • How do I load an image into the screen saver?
Go into settings for A-1 Image and click the "Images" tab. Click "Add" under "Loaded images" (right corner) to add a image file. If you have the unregistered version, you will have to delete a loaded image file before adding a new one.

  • How come when I display my images the color is unclear or distorted?
In order to view images that have colors greater than 256, your computer display settings needs to be set to at least 16 bit or higher on your computer. Your computer display settings might be set to 256 colors (8 bit). Please refer to your computer manual before making changes. Not all computers and monitors can display past 256 colors.

To view your computer display settings and make changes to the palette - follow the steps below.

    • click the "start" button
    • select "settings"
    • select "control panel"
    • double click the "display" icon
    • click the "settings" tab
    • choose at least "High Color (16 bit)" as your Color palette

  • What should I do after I receive my Registration key?
Under "A-1 Image settings" click the "Enter Registration Key" box at the bottom of the program.

  • How can I convert from a GIF to a JPEG format, or any other image format? How can I create my own images/photos to be displayed?
PaintShop Pro is an excellent way of converting a image/photo from one format to another. You can download PaintShop Pro at http://www.shareware.com. This program allows you to construct your own images/photos.

  • Why are some images clearer than others?
The images are displayed at the same quality which they were originally scanned. A-1 Image Screen Saver does not affect any image quality.

  • Why is the image caught on the side of the screen or overlapping the caption?
The "Image Size" might not be set correctly. Click the "Image Settings" tab in A-1 Image and resize the image to a lower percentage. This decreases the size of the image.

  • Feature Descriptions

  • Resizing your images
The "Image Size" feature under the "Image Settings" tab allows you to control the displayed image's size relative to the screen size. (i.e. setting the "Image Size" to 50% will display all images less than 50% of the screen size.)

  • Adding multiple images
The "Add Multiple Images" feature under the "Images" tab allows you to load as many images, pictures, and graphics into the screen saver from a selected folder. This feature is quite useful for loading 20, 50, or 100 image files at once.

  • Password protection
The "Password Protection" feature allows a user to set a password which must then be entered to quit the screen saver. The computer will prompt you for the password if you try to exit the screen saver. If an incorrect password (or no password) is entered, the screen saver will resume operation, disallowing access to the Windows Desktop. This provides security and privacy for your computer when you are away from your desk.

  • Message board
The "Message Board" feature allows anyone to leave a message on your computer while keeping your files safe and confidential. Password Protection must be enabled for the message board to be displayed.

  • Adding a caption
Adding a caption to each image is easy. Load an image in the screen saver, click the "Image Caption" textbox under "Images" tab and start typing. The caption is saved automatically for each image.

  • Background selection
The "Background Selection" feature allows the loaded images to be displayed on either a solid background color, gradient background color, loaded image or desktop background. To configure the "Background Selection", select "Background Selection" under the "Background" Tab.
