EDCO Software, Inc. Quarterly Installment Tax Calculator for IRS Form 2210.

If you are concerned about the Macro, do not activate it. It is for transferring your input data to a revision and/or a registered copy of the program and is not necessary to use.

You have downloaded a Free 1998/1999 Demonstrator spreadsheet for direct reading by Excel 97. This Demonstrator version is complete except Row 110 Totals for the 2nd,3rd, & 4th Tax Quarters and the Final Year are blocked. It will accurately calculate your FIrst Tax Quarter Installment Due, but no further. You can see what the program consists of, however, and order the unbloced version with a credit card or check per instructions below, or in the Program.

The primary purpose of the program is to calculate the minimum quarterly installment tax payments that will avoid a penalty. This is done proactively using Schedule A1 of Form 2210. That is, you enter your income tax data for the quarter ending March 31, 1999 or 1998 and the program tells you the payment due on April 15, 1999,or 1998. The demonstrator will only compute the first Tax Quarter of either year. The registered Program computes all 4 Tax Quarters, and the Final 1040
for both years.

You must have Excel 97 on your computer, and 500K of free disk space.

Simply unzip it. Put it in any Directory you use for your Spreadsheets, Data, Taxes, whatever. Then start Excel 97, go to your directory and open QITC9801.xls, or just double-click on the file to load Excel 97 and this spreadsheet.

There are short instructions for using the QUICK ENTRY form, and more complete Instructions for the FULL PROGRAM that will explain Data Entry, special "toggles" available, what the "read-out" Cells and color coding tell you, and special limitations to be aware of. There are also "pop-up" Comments at specific Data Entry Cells, as well as Instructions written directly on the spreadsheet, and warnings and comments that change with your entries.

Instead of questions, the program logic is direct fill-in on a short entry form or directly to lines of the IRS Form 1040, Schedule A and D.

This file, QITC9801.xls spreadsheet is FREE. You may pass it on to anyone, or install it on multiple computers.

The QITC Program will NOT prepare nor print any actual IRS Forms, nor ask you the questions leading to the application of many rules, so is not a substitute for a Tax Program. It is intended to be used with your tax data to calculate each quarterly installment during the year PRIOR to preparation of your Final Return.

The program will show "what-if" situations such as the limitations on credits due to the Tentative Minimum Tax, the high income effect on Schedule A (itemized deductions), Social Security, personal exemptions, and all credits. It is ideal for estimating Taxes, Installments, Withholding and adjusting them to avoid Penalties.

The program even shows you how much you'd earn, at 7%, on the tax you defer using our program versus the "safe harbor" method of 1/4 of last year's tax each quarter.

Since the IRS continually makes changes, we provide FREE Technical Support by e-mail, and free update revisions for both years in the 1999 Version.

To purchase the 1999 version by credit card and direct download, go to our website http://www.edcosoft.com. Or, fill in the form at the end of the Instructions in Column A of the File. E-mail it or mail it with your check. We will e-mail the Program to you. No discs. Credit card orders are processed through out website only.
