README FILE FOR DISK COMPARE '95, VERSION 1.05

Disk Compare '95 is a versatile general-purpose disk compare utility for Windows 95 and Windows 98. It will compare any two disks that have Windows Explorer drive letters, including floppy disks, hard disks, CD-ROMs, and Zip drives. Different types of disks can be compared (a CD can be compared to a hard disk, for example). An uninstaller is included.

To install Disk Compare '95,
1. Extract (unzip) all of the files in the archive to a directory on
    your hard disk.
2. Close all programs except for Windows Explorer.
3. In Windows Explorer, click on (run) the setup.exe program in the
directory where you have extracted the files.
4. Follow the on-screen installer instructions.

If you have a program already installed which uses the Borland Database Engine, such as Paradox for Windows, you may get an error message while installing Disk Compare '95. However, the program should run okay.

To uninstall Disk Compare '95,
1. Click the Windows 98 Start button.
2. Select Settings | Control Panel.
3. Click on Add/Remove Programs.
4. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box which comes up, select
    the Install/Uninstall tab.
5. In the window near the bottom, select Disk Compare '95, then press the
    Add/Remove... button.

Change Summary

Vers Comments
1.03 Initial release as freeware.
1.04 Added international support to the Borland Database Engine installation.
idapi32.cnf now installs to the directory where Disk Compare '95 is
installed, to prevent conflicts with existing software.
1.05 Will now compare disks with different drive letters, as advertised.
Switched to a different implementation for opening/reading files which
is much more tolerant about reading files that are already open by
another application. The program icon now installs where you tell
      it to.
