Thank you for trying Birthday, a birthday reminding program.

What is Birthday ?

At startup of your computer the program Birthday will show you recent
birthdays. It will show only the birthdays falling within a certain
time interval. This time window runs from three days ago till seven
days in the future. So the total period displayed is ten days.

A sample database with Birthday Data is provided. It is easy to edit this
database or import your own Birthdays Database into Birthday (see below).

Shareware

Birthday is a Shareware program. This version of Birthday, as you
downloaded it or copied it from CD-ROM, is a demo version. This demo
version is fully functional for a period of 30 days. After 30 days
the functionality will decrease until at last Birthday will not
function any more.

Feel free to distribute this demo version of Birthday along to
your friends.

You can always register to obtain your personal registered version
of Birthday. The registered version will regain full functionality
and keep it forever ! To register follow the instructions in the

How to Import Birthday Data ?

The Birthday Data is written in ASCII format, so importing Birthday
Data from other programs is very simple. All you have to do is to
save the data to a file with name Birthday.dat in the right format:
(You may choose another date format of course, see Options)

YYYY-mm-dd Name 1
YYYY-mm-dd Name 2
YYYY-mm-dd Name 3
etc.

YYYY -> Year of birth e.g. 1937
mm -> Month of birth e.g. 04 (for april)
dd   -> Day of birth e.g. 14

So the line

1937:04:14 Uncle Chris

means that Uncle Chris is born on april 14 of 1937.

The total length of the lines is 40 characters. So the maximal length of
Name 1, Name 2, etc, is 29 characters.

Before importing the file you created in this way, be sure to set right
date format. (Use Speed Button "Options", the third button from right).
