Overview
--------

Pollster simplifies and automates the process of creating
and conducting quick online polls. Written in 100% pure
Java, Pollster can be used on any Java capable platform,
avoiding the need for complicated scripts. Pollster server
and applet modules are fully customizable, providing a
powerful and flexible solution to conducting polls online.


License
-------

You have been granted a 30 day license to evaluate this
software.  This license entitles you to limited access to
Pollster.

Pollster may be freely distributed with the following
conditions: 

1. All files in the ZIP file should be included
   in distributions
2. The software must be identified as SHAREWARE
   in any distribution


Requirements
------------

Requirements: Pollster has been rewritten for the newest
version of Java (JRE 1.1.7) and an installed copy of the
JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is required.  The new JRE
can be found at:

Windows95 or Windows NT

Macintosh
From Apple: http://www.apple.com/macos/java/
* Macintosh needs both the MRJ and SDK to run Java applications

Steps for a successful installation:
------------------------------------

1) Create a directory called "Pollster" from the root
   directory.
   (i.e. C:\Pollster)
2) Copy the pollster.class file into your newly created
   "Pollster" directory.
3) Run the pollster.class file:

   For Windows:

   Command line: jre -cp . pollster

   * Java is case sensitive

   Or you have the option to run the pollster.bat file
   included.

4) Continue the installation process till finished.


Once you are done installing, you should have a "Pollster"
directory with five subdirectories, "Admin", "Client",
"Doc", "Results", and "Server".

Refer to the Pollster documents under "Docs" to get started
with Pollster (i.e. C:\Pollster\Docs\index.htm).
