ReadMe.Txt FSplit 1.5 (english)

Welcome to FSplit version 1.5

This is the latest release, providing several features and improvements
requested by users of the first versions, including:
	* compression of files prior to splitting
	* saving of settings between sessions
	* improvements to the rebuilders (windows programs, not DOS boxes)
	* program size DECREASE - main fsplit.exe file is less than 400K
	* ability to run on Windows NT 3.51

System requirements.
FSplit runs on Windows95 / 98, and Windows NT, from version 3.51 upwards
You need 2MB free disk space for installation, and 1MB memory free to run
	  the program.
Also, you need to speak either English or French. Well, not strictly
	  necessary, but it helps!

FSplit requires version 4.72.3110.1 or higher of the Microsoft common
controls library. This version is already installed with Windows98
and under Windows95, is installed with Internet Explorer 4.0
To check your version, do the following:
	  1. In Explorer, go to your Windows/System directory
	  2. Find the file 'COMCTL32.DLL' (you might need to turn on display
of all files in the View/Options/View menu)
	  3. Right-click on the file and choose 'Properties', or select the file,
		  and press Alt+Enter.
	  4. Select the 'Version' tab, then the 'Product version' entry.

If you do not have the correct version, FSplit cannot run. You need to
download the current version of the file, direct from Microsoft.
(Even if you decide not to keep FSplit, it is a good idea to download this
file, because Microsoft have fixed several 'undocumented (and not strictly
	  useful) features' in this update).
