Lily Pad Version 1.01
README

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use: Run setup. You may need to restart your computer. If, after doing all of this, the program still does not run, e-mail bluefrog@usa.net and I'll try to help you.

PLEASE READ: Lily Pad 1.01 was compiled with Visual Basic 5.0 Service Pack 3. Users of previous versions of Lily Pad may very well have to download a new set of VB5 Runtime Files to ensure proper compatibility. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this was a Microsoft product decision, and I am sure that in the long run this update will improve stability and efficiency. These files are available at my web site.

NOTICE: Lily Pad requires the VB 5.0 runtime files. If you do not have these files please see my web site for more information as to how to download them. The address is: http://user.icx.net/~reuscher/download.htm

If you are an IntelliMouse user, please get either FlyWheel or FreeWheel (FlyWheel works with Lily Pad, FreeWheel has not been tested but probably works too). Try searching for these programs at any one of the great shareware sites that you found Lily Pad at!

Current known bugs:

Occasionally, the coolbar buttons Open, Change Font, and Change Background Color will stick. This can be fixed by running your mouse pointer over the icon again. This bug will probably not receive high priority, and is just something you'll have to live with.
After choosing no to the "Do you want to save the changes" dialog, and then canceling the Open File dialog, all data is lost when choosing New file without adding any more data . Let me know if this is a real problem for anyone. It seems like it wouldn't be. Just be careful :)
When opening some files of file types not included (those included are .txt, .htm, etc.), the display window will just stay the same and not open anything. I'm investigating why this happens and hope to fix it. No guarantees.
Opening the link to my web page using any browser with IE 4.0 PR1 installed on your computer will crash Lily Pad if it is the first time that you have used your Dial-Up Networking connection since booting your computer. The work around is to get PR2.
When you have settings restored at startup and have the toolbar selected to not be shown, it will flash for a split second before disappearing. There is no workaround for this minor inconvenience, and it unfortunately will appear in the final release. (It's visible for only a split second on my 486, so who knows, if you have a good computer you may not even see it. )
