Dialup - Options

  1. Dialup username

  1. This should already be entered with your username.

  2. Enter the phone number for your network or ISP.

  3. Clicking on the arrow to the right will display a drop-box. Choose your modem type.

  4. Choose the highest speed that your modem will support - generally 14,400, 19,200 or higher.

  5. Leave the default unless advised otherwise by your network administrator or ISP.

  6. Most systems are set for COM2 so the default should work on most systems. If you are able to connect with your network and/or ISP than COM2 is correct. Should errors occur when attempting to retrieve mail confirm your com port by doing the following:
    • Click Start - Settings - Control Panel - Modems
    • Confirm that there is a modem installed and note which com port is it attached to. See the picture below:

    Insert the correct com port if different then com2.

  7. Leave the default unless advised otherwise by your network administrator or ISP.

  10. Clicking on the arrow to the right will display a drop-box. Choose your Service Provider.

  12. Leave the default unless advised otherwise by your network administrator or ISP. If troubles occur you may be advised to save this information. It will be used by qualified technicians to determine the cause of the problem.
