FolderCompare32 - v1.10

Compares 2 folders and reports any differences

----- OVERVIEW ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compares all the files and subfolders found in the Folder 1 Path to the matching files and
subfolders found in the Folder 2 Path. You can select what to compare via the Global Options
menu. If any selected options differ between the two compared files an output log is
generated containing the error and the specific file in question. It will report the
following errors.

- File could not be opened for reading
The file is locked - it may be open currently in another program, or in use by the system.

- File Attribute mismatch
The attributes a file do not match - i.e. one is hidden the other is not.

- File Creation Time mismatch
The files were created at different times.

- File Last Access Time mismatch
The files were last accessed at different times - Windows95 does not seem to support
   this option.

- File Last Write Time mismatch
The files were last written to at different times.

- File Size mismatch
The files are not the same size - For speed reasons this option is required for the Bit
Level Integrity function. In Bit Level Integrity if the files do not match in size it
reports an error and stops comparing the current file. This is because a file can not be
the same on the bit level if they are not the same size.

- File Bit Level mismatch
A bit in the files does not match - this could occur due to data corruption.

- File Not Found In 2nd Folder
A file present in the Folder 1 Path does not exist in the Folder 2 Path - The compare
function always checks for this error because it must find a matching file in the Folder 2
Path. If there is a large amount of these errors you may have selected the wrong path for
the comparison. If you only want to compare files that do exist in both folders you can
uncheck the Report File Not Found In Second Folder option in the Global Options menu. This
will cause the Compare routine not to post that error in the output log.
