Capable of editing files more than four gigabytes in size, Textscape possesses an exceptionally manageable graphical user interface that permits significant flexibility and swiftness in an industrious working environment that requires continuous thought process and productivity in the areas of documentation, data cataloging, and information security.

Full support for both ASCII-format and RTF text are included in this excellent word processor that incorporates the power of ten clipboard extension pads, which greatly expand on the idea of cut and paste and allow for multiple instances of stored information and direct editing in addition to extensively easy accessibility. Beautifully equipped with a pop-up command menu, a hideable drive explorer, a pop-up application launch pad, a convenient file information bar, and a file statistics display, Textscape, with its notebook-like interface, constitutes a superb tool for quick edits of text files, including configuration files, password files, FAQ lists, Web pages, scripts, and source code files.

Miscellaneous functions Textscape implements include: fast HTML color-coding, customizable Auto-Replace (preprogrammed with more than 100 common corrections, expandable to 65,536, up to 2 gigabytes per replacement string), command line parameter execution, single-level undo, text case changing, line alphabetization, special string insertion, complete text selection, saved state restoring, graphical printing, printer setup, decimal character and key representation, and support for long Windows 95 filenames and short DOS filenames. In addition, the editor allows for unique multicolor, small-font, stay-on-top, floating "sticky notes", which are easily created by right-clicking and selecting a note color from the displayed pop-up menu.

Convenient keyboard shortcuts accompany all menu commands, which are also represented on two removable, hint-equipped command toolbars. Switching between notebook pages is effortless, and quick links to frequently utilized Windows applications are available. With a few key presses, automatic saving, sound effects, word wrapping, and window position and size locking can be enabled or disabled. With a few other key presses, a displayed file can be deleted or shown in Explorer.

Integrated with the Windows 95 operating system, Textscape also acts as an Internet resource directory by providing menu links to online dictionaries, acronym lists, quotation databases, style guides, thesauri, language translators, and Web sites containing valuable information concerning writing conferences, copyright protection, electronic publishing, correct grammar usage, marketing methods, self publishing, and more than a dozen writing genres.

In the registered, export controlled version, the editor is seamlessly integrated with QuickCrypt, an advanced data security utility that supports the 64-bit, 128-bit and 256-bit RXOR, RSUB, and VSA symmetric-key encryption algorithms.
