This courseware is divided into the following:

• Courses: Collections of modules based on common high-level themes, such as Object-Oriented Design or Project Cost Estimation.
• Modules: Collections of topics based on common intermediate-level themes, such as the Booch methodology for Object-Oriented Design or the COCOMO model for estimating project cost.
• Topics: Single Powerpoint files, each containing a presentation on one particular low-level theme, such as the symbols used by the Booch methodology for Object-Oriented Design or the definition of an object according to the Booch methodology.

In addition, each topic may be supplemented by video clips, documents or papers (prepared using Microsoft Word), sample program files, software development tools, documentation development tools, and other material. The SDE Courseware Project is run by an Editorial Board, all members of which have had a significant amount of experience in developing and distributing courseware in electronic form.
