Description of 3DShellArt ver 1.16.
06/20/97

Free for registered users of version 1.0 (use your current serial number of 1.0).

1. What a 3DShellArt ver 1.16 is?

3DShellArt ver 1.16 is a set of 3D-looking, 256-colors and style uniform
icons intended to replace nearly all standard Microsoft Windows95/NT shell
and some file types icons.

These icons are real 3D new original artwork, while keeping look and feel
of Windows. I think if you are using Windows it must look as good as possible,
but it also must look like Windows.

Setup Wizard included in this pack will install icons onto your system,
so no additional tools are needed.

2. Installation and Removing.

Installation.

Run ShellArt.exe setup utility and Setup Wizard will guide you through
the rest of installation procedure. Please note: Complete installation
will require restarting your computer.

To look into icon libraries installed you may use Microangelo, MS Plus, etc.
or Shortcut mechanics included in Windows95. ShellArt.icl, Bonus.icl and Tools.icl
will be placed under "Program Files\3D ShellArt" on your hard disk.

Removing.

Select "Add/Remove Programs" from your Settings (Control Panel) folder and select
"3DShellArt" to uninstall the software.

3. Demo and Registration.

3DShellArt ver 1.15 is shareware. It means you have to register it to see its full
advantages. This pack includes all staff needed to register and unlock itself,
no additional downloads required, but without serial number it will operate as demo.

In demo mode you'll see only 16-colors version of icons and all icons will contain
small red "R!" sign in a corner. Also Bonus and Tools icon library will contain only
few icons with above restrictions.
Registration removes this restrictions and gives you additional 40+ icons in Bonus
and Tools libraries.

To register, simply run Register.exe program, that can be found under
"Start"button"/"Programs"/"3DShellArt" program group on "Start\Programs" button or
inside "Program Files\3DShellArt" folder on your hard disk after you install 3DShellArt.

Follow instruction in Register dialog and it make the entire job to request for you serial
number of your copy of 3DShellArt. Serial number itself will be e-mailed for you.
I do hope you'll find registration fee of US$ 9 reasonable for this product.

After you get e-mail from registration service, simply re-run Setup Wizard ShellArt.exe
and enter serial number when prompted. Enjoy.

Please note: Author does not process your payment by himself. To do this job better I rely
on well known payment-processing system named Kagi, located in Berkeley, California.

They will process your payment and e-mail to you serial number.
Usually it takes 1 - 3 days to get registered.

4. Known problems.

   1. 3DShellArt uninstall wizard can't restore any customization you may have done
with Microsoft Plus or another tool to your shell icons.
After removing 3DShellArt you may have to redo this manually.

   2. In some cases 3DShellArt uninstall wizard will not remove folder
"Program Files\3DShellArt" from your hard disk. After removing 3DShellArt you may
have to remove this folder manually.

   3. In some cases on WindowsNT 4.0 after registration you may still see "R!" on icons.
To clear, rebuild icon cache with "More Properties 2.0".

   4. Icon Libraries are files with .icl extensions. 3D ShellArt only supply
three these libraryes and shortcuts. To open, edit and extract icons
from libraryes you have to got some tool.

I advise to download Microangelo from Download.com/Multimedia&Design/Icons.
It is great tool to work with .icl.

To fine tune your shell icons I advise to download "More Properties 2.0"
from Download.com category "Utilities/System Utilities" (around page 7) or
      directly from:

      http://home.global.co.za/~olivierd/imaginary/more20.zip

It's free and work fine on 95/NT.
