RELEASE NOTES

This is the first shareware release of the MiniFold macro. (v1.0)

REASON FOR WRITING MACRO

I got the idea for this macro from using "booklet" and "paper
saver" programs I downloaded over the years and from commercial
programs such as ClickBook. Most of the freeware and shareware
programs printed eight pages or more per sheet of paper, but they did
so in sequential order vice booklet order. There was no way to cut
and fold the output from these programs into a useable booklet.
ClickBook, while an excellent program, did much more than I needed
and was priced accordingly. I didn't want to pay $50 for thirty
different options when I was only interested in one or two.

I searched the net for programs or macros that would do what I
wanted, but the closest I found was a macro on the Microsoft homepage
that printed half-sized booklets. That macro was called the
FormatFoldOverBooklet macro. Since I wanted booklets that were
quarter-page sized and would fit in a pocket, I modified the
FormatFoldOverBooklet macro and added a new page numbering section to
create the FormatMiniFoldOverBooklet macro (MiniFold).

Although the MiniFold macro only prints booklets, 8 pages per sheet
of paper, you can vary the paper size and orientation to create a
wide variety of booklet styles. For instance, using 11"x17" paper in
Portrait mode creates interesting pamphlets measuring 8.5" tall and
5.5" wide. The macro will also handle Word graphics, so it is
possible to create some unique cards.

KNOWN BUGS

I know of no bugs. There were a few bugs found during testing, but
I think I squashed them all.

REPORTING BUGS

If anyone finds a bug, or thinks of a way to improve the MiniFold
macro, please let me know.

COPY PROTECTION

I know some people hide their macros and post dire warnings
concerning decompiling and the like. If I did this for a living I
might do the same, but I don't. Instead, I want people to enjoy
using this macro and to modify it to suit their own preferences if
they want. For that reason, the macro is not copy protected in any
way. If you want to dig into the code, feel free. And if you create
something really unique and interesting, please send me a copy!

SHAREWARE FEE

If you find the MiniFold macro useful, please consider sending me
$1 for my efforts. I spent about a week writing, modifying and
troubleshooting this macro to make it as easy to use as possible. I
am curious to see how many people end up using my macro, so if $1 is
too much, please send me a postcard from your hometown instead.

This shareware program is freely distributable.

Thanks!
