What is Visual Address Book?
----------------------------
Visual Address Book is a small and easy to use program to keep track
of names and addresses. The program will allow you to print out
address labels on Avery 8160 or Avery 5160 stock labels which can
be purchased at about any department store or office store. You can
also print a simple report listing the complete address book.

Works great for Christmas card mailings!

System Requirements
-------------------
Visual Address Book requires Windows 95 or Windows NT because it is a
32-bit application.

How to Install Visual Address Book
----------------------------------
To install the program, unzip the contents of the VADDRESS.ZIP file to
a temporary directory and run SETUP.EXE. This will take you through the
software installation. A program group should be created for you in your
Start menu. If a program group is not created in your "Start" menu,
then run the ADDRESS.EXE from the directory where Visual Address Book
was installed or create a shortcut to ADDRESS.EXE anywhere you want. You will
find information on this in the Win95 or WinNT help if you search under
"Creating: Shortcuts".

Backing Up and Restoring Your Data
----------------------------------
I would recomment backing up the data inputted into Visual Address book on a
regular basis, expecially after any major adds, deletes, or changes take place.
To backup your address book data, copy the files in the DATA sub-directory (which
is under the directory where you installed Visual Address Book) to a floppy disk,
ZIP disk, or even another directory on the hard drive. I recommend copying to
a removable disk such as a floppy or ZIP disk so that you can restore your data
if you hard drive every takes a "dive".
To restore your data, just take the disk that has the DATA sub-directory on it
and copy the files to the DATA sub-directory (which is under the directory where
you installed Visual Address Book). In a future release, I hope to have this
automated and integrated into the program. But for now, this should work.

How to Purchase Visual Address Book
-----------------------------------
Visual Address Book is distributed as Shareware. Please feel free to
pass it on to your friends and family. All I ask is $20.00 for my efforts
in creating and maintaining this program if you decide to use it after
trying it out for a while.

Please send the $20.00 to the following address:

Where to Purchase the Labels
----------------------------
Visual Address Book requires the use of either Avery #8160
ink jet labels or Avery #5160 laser labels. Both of them
will work with the program. The labels are on 8.5 inch
by 11 inch sheets of paper.

The labels can be purchased at almost any department store
in the home office department. Also, specialty office stores
such as Office Max will carry them, usually in larger quantities.
Mail order office supply stores such as Quill also carry them.
