Dead After Dark are a four piece from Leamington Spa, who are starting to attract attention across a wider area. After producing a series of demo tapes and samplers on their own label, the most recent being "No Time To Waste, the band are now spending time in the studio recording their debut album. 1995 seems as though it will be a key year in the band's history. In addition to recording their debut album, the band have lined up a number of festivals appearances. Overseas dates are in the process of being lined up. A full UK tour will be happening during the Autumn to support the release of the album. The band's sound is a healthy combination of folk, rock and punk, with the emphasis more on the first two of those three. Unlike a lot of bands working with those sounds there is a lighter side to the band's music which vividly contrasts with the darker numbers. One of the ways Dead After Dark have arranged their foriegn dates is by arranging gig swaps with Finnish band Jean Beam, who will be playing a number of dates over here. April this year saw the band playing a session on BBC CWR which lead to increased demand for their "No Time To Waste" cassette. One of the other claims to fame of Dead After Dark was a support set with underground superstar John Otway. The track here represents the band's first release on CD.
