\bWithout a doubt the Charles Wells' Cambridge Folk Festival is one of the best music festival's alive in Britain today. Its 31year history has included some of the biggest names in music. Included in the hundreds of artists that have graced the stages at Cambridge are Jools Holland, 10 000 Maniacs, Suzanne Vega, Paul Simon, Joan Baez, Tom Robinson, Nanci Griffith, The Blues Band, Ruby Blue, The Oyster Band & Buddy Guy. One of the reasons the festival has lasted so long is it's liberal interpretation of the word folk. Blues, world, bluegrass, folk-rock, cajun, reggae, jazz, calypso & soca have all had their appearances at the festival. The array of singer-songwriter's and story tellers that have played the festival is just staggering. The line-up for the 31st Charles Wells Cambridge Folk Festival includes Elvis Costello, Sean Colvin, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Capercaillie & Sharon Shannon. The blues side of the festival is fronted by a rare UK appearance from Clarance 'Gatemouth' Brown. Nick Lowe and Lindisfarne add a rockier tinge whilst Tim and Mollie O'Brien & The O'Boys bring along some Kansas style bluegrass. This Year's 31st Charles Wells Cambridge Folk Festival takes place from the 28th to 30th of July at the Cherry Hinton Hall Grounds in Cambridge.
