The Horde  is a fast-paced, wild, and slightly gross game of action and 
strategy where one player defends his growing village against the
onslaught of a huge gang of vile, stupid, and funny creatures who are
intent on eating EVERYTHING! 

When the game begins, Chauncey has just arrived at his new estate in
early spring (along with a few dazed, shanghaied peasants). The land is
wild, but ready to be tamed -- shaped into a nice, profitable little
village.

Hordlings are about 2/3 as tall as a human, red in color, and their
bodies are primarily fang-filled mouth.  Dissection has revealed that
their physiology is almost entirely devoted to catching their prey,
swallowing their prey, digesting their prey and..., er..., well, you get
the idea. Hordlings move with a strange, oddly funny gait, holding their
claws well above their heads and lumbering around at good speed.
Remember, these are the young Hordlings, teenagers in fact. As they grow,
they get bigger, smarter, sneakier.

Hordlings do not creep onto the board one at a time, nor do they arrive
in small groups -- they charge in as a HORDE!  What was once a peaceful
meadow suddenly becomes a chaotic feeding frenzy. As soon as the
Hordlings appear, they dash toward the nearest food (a cow, a villager,
or you, Chauncey) and try to eat it. When a Hordling arrives outside a
villager's house, it immediately begins pounding on the outside, causing
a loud, "Thump! Thump! Thump!" sound which you can hear from anywhere on
the map.  If the Hordling pounds long enough (5-10 seconds), it will
smash the house to splinters, exposing the villager inside, and then, as
villager spies Hordling and Hordling spies lunch, a wild chase ensues.
Alas, Hordlings are faster than villagers, and if the player doesn't stop
the Hordling in a few seconds, the gruesome creature will catch the poor
villager and gulp him down like a Burger Buddy.

All you need to do in order to succeed in the game is to defend your
thriving little village from these nasty little creatures. Here are a few
commands that will aid you in doing so.
