THE ORION CONSPIRACY ==================== Interactive Demonstration -------------------------- Copyright Divide By Zero 1995 ----------------------------- DEMO DESCRIPTION ---------------- The demo is a fully interactive segment of the game, including rendered sequences, voice-overs, sound effects and musical soundtrack. You play Devlin McCormack, a retired engineer who has been called to the Cerberus research station for the funeral of his son. After he arrives he discovers that his son's death was not an accident, and decides to investigate further. But there is another murder, and Devlin is accused of the crime. In this section from the game, Devlin is locked in the observation pod at the base of the space station, awaiting the next transport ship which will deliver him to the authorities. He must escape, so that he can prove his innocence and hunt down the real murderer. RUNNING THE DEMO ---------------- Ensure that the current directory is the \ORION directory on the CD. Run SETUP. This will install the demo onto the player's hard drive. Type ORION to run game, or SETUP to reconfigure game options. DEMO REQUIREMENTS ----------------- 80386 33MHz or above VESA-compliant SuperVGA 1 Mb Hard Drive space At least 510K free Base Memory - more required for certain soundcard options At least 3Mb of Extended Memory (XMS) required (although interactive part of demo will run with less) Configuration possible with most soundcards PLAYING THE DEMO ---------------- Move the cursor over the item you want to interact with. If you can, it's name will be printed by the cursor. You can click the left mouse button to bring up a menu of available options (if there is only one option it defaults to it automatically). Then, by either moving the mouse cursor over the options or cycling round them using the right mouse button, select the option you want with the left mouse button. The green arrow on the right of all option lists is for cancelling the interaction. If you move the cursor off the bottom of the screen you will access the Inventory. This can be deselected by either clicking on "Exit" or by moving the cursor back up to the play area. The Space Bar also toggles the Inventory on and off.
