Before the installation, make sure you have no other programs running. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. If you have autoplay enabled, install program will automatically start. If you do not have autoplay enabled, please run setup. exe in your root directory. First ,select the directory you would like to install. Then you should decide the way to set up. Installation will begin. Installation will be completed when the files have been copied. Startup Run the 'BUST-A-MOVE 4 TRIAL' which is in the selected group of the program folder. The default screen setting of the game is 640X480 full screen mode. If you would like to have another display mode, keep pressing Shift key when you start up the game. The new display mode is saved and kept when you start the game next time. Uninstall There are two ways for running the uninstall program. 1. Select "BUST-A-MOVE 4 TRIAL" from 'Add/Remove application' in the 'Control Panel'. Then, click on the 'Add/Remove ' button. 2. From the start menu, select program folder named 'CYBERFRONT', and then select 'Uninstall' in the "BUST-A-MOVE 4 TRIAL" folder. Uninstall will be automatically completed as you follow the instructions on the screen. The program removal will be completed. ================================================================== Game Play ================================================================== Game Menu Screen From the title screen, click on the 'start' button and you will be able to select the mode. The Pulley System and the Chain Reaction is explained in[PUZZLE]and[PLAYER VS COMPUTER]respectively. [PUZZLE] Single Play [ARCADE] Round clear type puzzle game. [STORY] Collecting Tarot Cards by solving the Puzzles. [PLAYER VS COMPUTER] Single Play [STORY] Player vs. computer puzzle game. The story will differ when you change the characters. [WIN CONTEST] Puzzle game where you challenge how many times you can make consecutive wins. [PLAYER VS PLAYER] Player vs. Player 2 players compete in the puzzle game. [CHALLENGE] Player vs. Computer You will find how good you really are through Challenge mode. After you have completed Challenge Mode, you will get the results of your game play. Other Modes [EDIT] Edit mode allows you to create your own original pattern of the game and to play the game. You can save up to 25 patterns. Just decide the direction by the left and right arrow key, and click on the 'decide' key to launch a bubble. After you are getting accustomed, there are some advanced operations. Launcher adjustment. [1P] H key ,[2P] 1 key (default key setting) Every time you hit the key, move slightly to the left. [1P] L key, [2P] 3 key (default key setting) Every time you hit the key ,move slightly to the right. To fix the Launcher at 90 degree. forward key ================================================================== Basic Rules ================================================================== The object of the game is to burst as many bubbles as you can. After a period of time, the bubbles that remain descend one level at a time toward the Deadline. The game ends when the first bubble crosses the Deadline. Fire a bubble from the Launcher and connect it to two or more bubbles of the same color. These bubbles will burst. Bubbles suspended by those burst will also be cleared. The larger the cluster cleared, the more points awarded. [Continue] When the game is over, the countdown will start. If you press the start key during the countdown, you can start the game again. There are no limitations of replay. ================================================================== The Pulley System (Player vs. Computer mode only) ================================================================== There are the rounds which has the Pulley System in BUST-A-MOVE 4 TRIAL. Finer skills are required to clear such rounds. [Pulley] The Pulley will disappear when all the bubbles on the Pulley System are bursted. [Pulley System] Each time a bubble is attached, the heavier cluster descends. When the weight between ends of the rope is in balanced, the assembly starts to shake. This is the sign of descent. ================================================================== Chain Reaction (VS. Play only) ================================================================== Chain Reaction add more excitement to VS. Play. [Condition to Generate Chain Reaction] 1. Bubble drop takes place as a result of burst. For example, a red bubble drops as a result of burst. 2. There is more than Two same color bubble attached together. For example, there are more than two red bubbles attached together. 3. There is a space for the dropped bubble to attach to the clustered same color bubbles. For example, There is a space for the dropped red bubble to fly to and attach the clustered red bubbles. Chain Reaction continues as long as the above three conditions are met. ================================================================== Special Bubbles ================================================================== [Star Bubble] Once a color of bubble attached to Star Bubble. Star Bubble will clear all the same color bubbles that is attached to the Star Bubble in the cluster. [Rainbow Bubble] Rainbow Bubble changes its color to the color of bubbles which are attached to Rainbow Bubble and cleared by burst. [Block] Block cannot be removed by burst but removed by drop. However only Blocks remained, you can clear a round. [Anchor] Anchor can be removed only by bursting all the bubbles attached to Anchor. A round cannot be cleared if Anchor remains. [Elevator] Elevator carries all the attached bubbles to the highest possible level. When Elevator reaches the level, it will change into Anchor. [Name Entry] High Scores will be shown in Ranking together with three letters. Scroll by the arrow keys to find letters and select by the decide key. ================================================================== Characters ================================================================== Each Character has different pattern of Bubbles to attach an opponent. Also Chain Reactions will change the pattern of Bubbles. BUB Bub returns for this latest challenge. He is very delight to be back with his precious Bubbles. He is the main character of Puzzle Bobble. Attach Pattern : Balanced DEVELON Develon is incarnation of bat who lives in a planet called Diable. He always plan to do something nasty. He see Bub as his rival. But he feels lonesome. Attach Pattern : Balanced ALKANET Alkanet is the prince of a planet called Freeze. She will try to freeze you out with all those Rainbow Bubbles. But Star Bubbles she sends over shows her hearts not made of ice. Attach Pattern : For novice player MARINO Marino is a noble prince of a planet called Wavie. He will put you in a aggressive battle field hoping a blue or green bubbles washes off. Attach Pattern : Aggressive attack KUROL Kurol is a baby from a planet called Groom. He is easy going and likes to take a nap. But when he send bubbles, he is very tactful. Attach Pattern : Variable attack TAM-TAM Tam-Tam is the spirit protector of the frontier planet called Navajo. He and his assistants will dance a rainstorm of Bubbles as steadily as dram-beat. Attach Pattern : Aggressive attack CLEON Cleon is a night fairy. She works for "Madam Luna." But she has an ambition to topple Madam Luna and become the queen of the night. Attach Pattern : Variable attack G Nobody knows where G is from. However, it is said that G has spent hundreds of years to practice games on his planet of sages. Attach Pattern : for novice player BRAMB No one really knows the story behind weird Bramb but watch out for his alien magic. He really knows how to send out his complex pattern of Bubbles. Attach Pattern : Aggressive attack GIGANT Gigant was a security robot of a wasted planet called Gossic. He had been with the planet even after it was wasted. But Rainbow bubble inspired him to be a warrior. Attach Pattern : Most powerful attack ================================================================== Puzzle Mode ================================================================== [PUZZLE] [Select Game] Select a game you want to play by up and down 'arrow' keys ,then click on the 'Decide' key. [Select the Difficulty Level] When you play Player vs. Computer puzzle game, you should select the game level. Use left and right arrow key to select and then press 'Decide' key. [Select the Character] Use arrow key to select a character you want to play. Press 'Decide' key and soon the game will start. If you want to cancel your selection ,just press 'Cancel' key, and you will back to the previous screen. [Select Difficulty Level] [EASY] Dot sight line is always displayed. There are 5 rounds. [NOMAL] Normal difficulty [EXPERT] Bubbles are allocated very difficult. High skills are required. [ARCADE] Game Flow 1[Rules] If you burst all the bubbles in the field, you can clear the round. In this mode, there are no difference in Character features. 2[Select Route] After clearing 5 rounds, you should select the area (which is shown in alphabet) that you wish to go. When you clear the final area, this game mode ends. [STORY] Game Flow 1 [Selecting the character] Select a character by the 'arrow' key and then click on the 'ok' key . The story will change depending on the selected character. 2 [Moving in the Map] Use your arrow keys and 'Decide Key' , then you can select the stage. After clearing 5 stages, you will be able to select a different stage. Timing to push 'Decide Key' will change the difficulty level of the stages. 3 [Stage Clear] Each time you clear the stage, you will get one Tarot Card. If you collect 22 Tarot Cards, you will see the ending. Demonstration in the game can be skipped by pressing 'Decide Key'. ================================================================== Player vs. Computer Mode ================================================================== [PLAYER VS COMPUTER] 1[Select Difficulty Level] Use your arrow key and select Difficulty Level and decide by 'Decide Key'. Then select your character, game will start. (There are no Difficult Level in [WIN CONTEST]. 2 [Start Battle] You will have one match battle with the computer. If Bubble in the computer field crosses Deadline, you will win the battle. [Select Difficulty Level] [PRACTICE] Dot sight line is always displayed. There are 3 rounds. [NOMAL] Normal difficulty [EXPERT] Opponent's Character will be stronger. [STORY] Game Flow 1 [Select Character] Select a character by the 'arrow' key and then click on the 'ok' key .The story will change depending on the selected character. 2[Dialogue between Characters] Dialogue between characters will be displayed. 3[Win/Lose] If you win the battle you can enter into the next stage. If you lose, the game will be over. [WIN CONTEST] Game Flow 1 [Select the character] Select a character by the 'arrow' key and then click on the 'ok' key . 2[Rules] If you beat the opponent, another opponent will show up. Game continues until you lose. 3[Game Over] Illustration will be built up depending on your number of consecutive wins. The illustration will be completed over 16 consecutive wins. [Hidden Character] If you are able to beat mystery character during the Contest, one of them will be available to play afterwards. ================================================================== Player vs. Player mode ================================================================== [PLAYER VS PLAYER] If you press 'Start Key' during "PLAYER VS COMPUTER" and "STORY" modes, you can start Player vs. Player Mode. 1[Select Character] Player 1 and 2 should select Characters by using arrow and 'Decide Key'. 2[Set Handicap] If you select the lower value, the game will be easier. 3[Win/Lose] After completing set number of battles, the game will be over. If you press Continue, Character select will start again. Handicap setting will differ Character strength and some more difficulty levels. ================================================================== Challenge Mode ================================================================== [CHALLENGE] Play round number can be set by Option Mode. Evaluation results will be shown in 20 different grades. 1[Select Character] Select a character by the 'arrow' key and then click on the 'ok' key . The Difficulty level of Rounds will change depending on the selected character. 2[Rules] Play as instructed. Even if you cannot meet the instruction, you can enter into the new stage. 3[Stage Evaluation] If you clear the set number of rounds, the Evaluation results will be shown. 20th Grade is the highest one. ================================================================== Edit Mode ================================================================== [EDIT] You can save up to 25 round data. 1[Game Menu] Select by the 'arrow' key and then click on the 'Decide Key' If you first try editing, press "Puzzle Set UP". 2[Editing] After allocating Bubbles, you should Test the round and create well balanced game. 3[Play Puzzles] You can play all the rounds you created. After clearing all 25 rounds, you will see ending. [Cursor] Move Cursor by arrow keys and put or erase Bubbles. [Anchor Area] You can place only Anchor Bubbles. [Bubble Place Area] You can place Bubbles as you like. Be careful for creating puzzles impossible to solve. During Editing, Press 'C' key or '+' key (Default Setting), you will see the following menu. Use arrow key and decide key to create puzzles. [RANDOM COLOR] Generate Bubbles randomly [DELETE MAP] Erase Round data [PLAYFIELD SIZE] Select field size [ROUND SELECTION] Select Round data to edit [ROUND DATA] Round order change and copy round data [Test] Test Play [SAVE LOAD] Save and Load round data [EXIT] End Editing and return to Game Menu. <> Edit operation 1P 2P Move Cursor Up,Down,Left,Right 8246 Select Bubble H/L 1/3 Bubble Placement Z,Enter 0 Bubble Erase, Cancel X - Menu Display ON/OFF C + [Random Color Bubble] Color of the Bubbles are randomly set each time to play. [Anchor] Anchor(s) definitely need(s) to be placed on the field to support Bubbles. Cautions: You cannot play the round if you create the round without Anchor or only with Anchors. [HANDICAP] [PLAYER VS PLAYER ]handicap setting [RENSA] Chain Reaction setting [CHALLENGE] Set number of round in Challenge mode. [GUIDE LINE] Sight line setting after Continue (Puzzle mode only) [EXIT] Return to Game Menu [CONTROLLER] [KEY CONFIG] Key configuration settings [SAVE LOAD] Data save and Load. [DATA LOAD] Load saved data. [DATA SAVE] Save data [AUTO SAVE] Automatic save data function on/off. [EXIT] Return to Option Menu. !!Automatic save data function does not work for Edit mode. You must save data when you wish to do in Edit mode. ================================================================== Network vs. Mode ================================================================== [NETWORK] Start network vs. mode as follows. 1.Prepare two network connected computers. Select Protocol at [NETWORK] in [OPTION] menu. One of the computer is used for Saver and start the game which Interrupt Play mode such as "Arcade" in "Puzzle" or "Story" in "Player vs. Computer." 2.In the other computer, choose the same protocol at [NETWORK] in [OPTION] menu as Saver. Then connect to the Saver. 3.Then, the screen will be the same display as [PLAYER VS PLAYER]. You can start the battle. ================================================================== Trouble Shooting. ================================================================== Please before you call up customer support. Something Wrong with Game Behaviors Game movement becomes very slow after a while. Is Power Management or Power Save On? If so, Please turn off these functions. If these Power functions are on, they will affect game behaviors. Flicker on the Screen Do you use animation cursor? If you do, Please turn off the cursor. Something Wrong with Display Dialogue box isn't indicated. Dialogue box could be behind the game screen when the game is displayed at full screen mode. If the dialogue box is behind the game screen, press "ESC" key. Press again and again if you do not have the dialogue box. Something Wrong with Color Prioritize the game window. If this does not work, close another applications because your computer may be using the applications' color pallet. Even after closing other applications, if the color remains wrong, restart the game. All the above do not work, we would suggest you to contact graphic board vendor which supply graphic board to your computer. The vendor will supply you with the new graphic board driver. (We cannot supply you with the driver.) Something Wrong with BGM or Sound Effect Sound balance is wrong. Adjust the volume with the volume controller of Windows. Network You are not sure what IP address you should input when you start TCP/IP communication. Input the opponent's IP address. You have to know the address in advance. You do not know your computer's IP address. If your computer is connected to LAN, you will know the address by opening "TCP/IP" property at Network in Control Panel. Error Message after Selecting Connection Method Selected communication method may not be set up. Ex. You will see the error message when TCP/IP is not installed in Windows and you select TCP/IP. Opponent Does not Appear on the Screen or No Connection Check the followings: * Opponent game Mode does not support network play * If same connection method as opponent. Match Play through LAN * Check if the opponent computer is in the same LAN. (It should not through Router.) Match Play through TCP?IP (LAN) * Check if you input right IP address. Match Play through Modem * Check if modem setting is right or if cable to modem is properly connected. Match Play through Cable * Check if the cable is properly connected or if the communication parameter is the same with the opponent. You Feel Latency or Have Disconnection during the Match Play through Network Match Play though LAN * Check if the network setting is right. There is a possibility that the network condition is not good. Ask a network manager if the connection and setting is proper. Match Play though Modem * There is a possibility that the condition of public network circuit goes down. Try reconnection. * Check if the data compression is on. Match Play though Cable * Check if communication port is properly set up. Look up the Windows manual and set up the port. * If the above does not work, change communication settings.
