New Features: * Flash Pix and PNG file format support * Incorporating Intel MMXTM technology * Special effects in Object Pool * Multiple Undo functions * Preference setting for Undo level and sound effect on/off selection * Capability of printing an entire album * New clipart and album templates NOTE: YOU WILL NEED 40 MB FREE HARD DISK SPACE TO INSTALL PRESTO! PHOTOALBUM. New File Format Support Flash Pix file format enables you to select proper dimensions for the on-screen display so that processing speed is increased when you are editing a large, high-resolution photo. PNG file format gives you an alternative to the GIF format for network image transmission. It supports true color images, and offers additional compression capabilities. Incorporating MMX Technology MMX media enhancement technology is Intel's most recent processor enhancement that will change the multimedia and communications world. Combining a PC and software both designed for MMX technology will effectively enhance the performance of multimedia processing. Presto! PhotoAlbum was designed to incorporate MMX technology. Working on a PC with a Pentium* processor with MMX technology, will boost the performance of Presto! PhotoAlbum by more than 20%. Photo Processing Effects The following new special effects have been added to the Object Pool: Emboss, Customize, Texturize and Calendar. The Emboss effect enables you to make the image stand out from the paper surface or stand in relief against its background. You may select different colors for coating on the surface of objects in the photo. The Customize category enables you to apply your own special effects to selected photos. The Contour effect converts images into a bi-level format in which image outlines are clearly marked. For an RGB color image, the outlines contain up to eight colors (black, white, red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow). The Auto Tuning effect automatically adjusts the brightness and saturation of your photo. The Smooth effect slightly softens the image. If you want to make the image look even softer, choose Smooth More. The Smooth Edge effect only softens the edges of objects in the image. The Sharpen effect makes the image a little clearer. The Sharpen More effect sharpens the image even further. The Sharpen Edge effect only sharpens the edges of objects in the image. The Noise effect can randomly generate color pixels in different levels of brightness. This looks similar to the color noise generated by TV screens. The Blur effect slightly blurs the image. The Find Edge effect is used to automatically find and display the edges of the objects with the original colors of the objects at the sides of their edges. The Fragment effect will fragment and overlap pixels in the image, creating a look similar to an out-of-focus photo. The Mosaic effect is used to display an image as a series of mosaic tiles. The colors of the tiles are averaged with the original image colors. Applying the Over Exposure effect makes a photo look over- exposed. The Texturize category provides texture patterns for coating the photo surface. This makes the photo look as if it were made of that material. Calendar The Calendar category offers several different calendar formats. Presto! PhotoAlbum will automatically generate the weeks and days as long as you specify the month and year for the calendar. Choose a calendar format and drag it to the album page from the Object Pool. A dialog box will pop up for you to enter the year and month. After you click [OK], the calendar will appear on the album page. Canceling the Last Operation The Undo function under the Photo menu cancels the last action the software performed. The last action you performed is displayed at the right of the Undo command. Click on this command to undo the action. If you want to perform the canceled operation again, choose the Redo command in the same menu. Preferences The new Preferences command under the Album menu contains two setting options: Undo Enabled This option enables or disables the Undo function in the Photo menu. With Undo turned off the program doesn’t have to keep track of your actions, and devotes more memory to run other features. So the speed of the program is faster in disabled mode. If you have selected to enable the Undo function, you may set the number (up to 10) of executed commands to be memorized by the software so that you can cancel those operations later, if necessary. The higher the number of Undo level, the slower the processing speed of the software. Sound Effect This option turns the sound effects on or off. Printing an Entire Album You may select to print all the pages in an album with the Print Entire Album option in the Print dialog box. When the Print Entire Album check box is enabled, all the pages in the current album will be printed.
