For languages provided with a Word Translator-supplied TrueType font (Cyrillic, East European and Japanese), a word processor or application that automatically imports and exports rich text format (.rtf) through Clipboard is required. INSTALLING WORD TRANSLATOR FOR WINDOWS Most shareware versions are distributed as a single ".exe" or ".zip" file and must be decompressed before installing the program. If you received Word Translator on a disk or after you have decompressed the single ".exe" or ".zip" file and transferred the decompressed installation files to a separate disk, you may proceed directly with your installation of the program using the below instructions. A. Insert the disk containing the Word Translator for Windows installation files into your A (or B) drive. B. Click the START and click on RUN from the menu that appears C. A RUN window will appear and contain an OPEN box. D. In the OPEN box select or type a:\setup (or B:\setup if the disk is in the B drive) E. When the correct path to the drive containing the Word Translator disk is displayed inside the OPEN box (e.g. A:\setup), click the OK button or press the key on your keyboard and the installation process will begin. F. Carefully follow the On-Screen Installation Instructions. You may also install the program from a directory on your hard drive where you decompressed the single ".exe" or ".zip" file. 4. SELF-EXTRACTING ".EXE" FILES INCLUDED WITH CYRILLIC AND EAST EUROPEAN VERSIONS Cyrillic and East European language versions install a CODE.EXE or CODE_KBD.EXE file in the "default" WINTRAN directory. This CODE.EXE or CODE_KBD.EXE file will extract a file named CODE.WRI or CODE_KBD.WRI that contains pictures of EITHER the three parts of the Windows Cyrillic or East European Code Page (IBM Code Page 1251 or IBM Code Page 1250) that you may print-out and use as a reference. Russian versions also contain PHONETIC.EXE, RUS_FED.EXE and AATSEEL.EXE files that are installed in the "default" WINTRAN directory. The extracted PHONETIC.EXE, RUS_FED.EXE and AATSEEL.EXE files ALL create RUSENG.KBD and ENGRUS.KBD files which, in turn, (when copied to or extracted within your WINTRAN directory to REPLACE (overwrite) existing files of the SAME NAME) will change your Russian Keyboard Layout to either the PHONETIC/HOMOPHONIC, RUSSIAN FEDERATION or AATSEEL (American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages) keyboard layout.
