Organic Art Demo ---------------- Thank you for choosing to install the Organic Art demo. We hope you find it an interesting and enjoyable experience. For instructions on how to install and setup the demo, please read on. Further information may be found by reading the README files in the Organic Art folder. Installing Organic Art ---------------------- Before starting the installation process we recommend that you make sure that you have the hardware and software required to run Organic Art. You need: An Intel (or 100% compatible) Pentium or 486DX2 66Mhz IBM compatible computer. Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11. 8 MB RAM. 20MB free hard disk space. CD-ROM drive. 256 colour graphics. Note 1: Windows 3.x must be running with MSDOS 5.0 or higher, and have at least 20MB of swapfile space. Note 2: On Windows 3.x, only 256 colour mode is supported. The recommended specification for full enjoyment of Organic Art is: Pentium 75MHz or faster. 16MB RAM. SuperVGA supporting 65536 colours. Windows 95 or Windows NT. To Install Organic Art on your PC: Turn on your PC and start Microsoft Windows. Insert the Organic Art CDROM into your CDROM drive. If your PC is running Windows 95, the install program should now auto load. If your PC does not auto start click on the START button then click on RUN. Type D:\SETUP in the RUN dialogue box (if your CDROM is drive E, type E:\SETUP). If your PC is not running Windows 95 go to the FILE menu in the PROGRAM MANAGER and choose RUN. Type D:\SETUP in the RUN dialogue box (if your CDROM is drive E, type E:\SETUP). If the setup program needs to make any changes to your configuration files it will do so now. You may need to run Setup again after Windows restarts. Once the Install program is loaded you are presented with 3 options: Install: Choose this to install Organic Art. Help: Offers help with the installation process. Exit: Exit the installation process. Note: As Organic Art is a 32bit program, Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 users will need to install WIN32s onto their computer for Organic Art to work. The installation process automatically detects if WIN32S is present and will install / not install it accordingly. If you DO have to install WIN32S, run the Organic Art setup program again, after WIN32S has been installed. The installation process is extremely simple and will offer you the choice of destination directory and Windows folder. You can also choose to make Organic Art your default screen saver. It is recommended that you simply press Return to choose all default settings. IMPORTANT NOTE: If your screen saver settings are set to "None" before you install Organic Art, choosing to make Organic Art your default screen saver will NOT work. Use the following procedure to set Organic Art as your screen saver. Windows 95: Click the right mouse button on the desktop. A menu will appear. Select PROPERTIES, then choose SCREEN SAVER. Under the screen saver heading choose ORGANICS. Windows 3x: Go into the MAIN group and choose CONTROL PANEL. Select the DESKTOP icon. Under the screen saver heading choose ORGANICS. Using the screen saver ---------------------- Once Organic Art is installed a new folder (called Organic Art by default) will appear on your desktop. This folder contains several icons: Test Organic Art: Displays a test screen to see if Organic Art is working properly. Configure Organic Art: Options are as follows: Ordering: Choose from RANDOM CYCLE (plays every scene in a random order) or RANDOM COMBINATIONS (plays a completely random selection of scenes). Viewport Size: Changes the size of the Organic Art screen. Bigger screens are slower to render but show more detail. Disable Backdrops: Turns off the background picture on each scene. Disable Still Scenes: Turns off any still scenes. Show Caption Bar: Displays information at the bottom of a scene. Ignore Mouse Movements: If chosen, moving the mouse will no longer turn off the screen saver. Active/Inactive Screens: This option lets you add or remove screens from the screen saver "playlist" (as used with the Random Cycle / Combination options) To make a screen inactive, highlight the screen you wish to remove then click on the icon with arrows pointing RIGHT. To make a screen active, highlight the screen you wish to add then click on the icon with the arrows pointing LEFT. All screens are active by default. Uninstaller: This program removes Organic Art and all its components from your hard disk.
