A SPICY STORY!
                                     of
                         Spices,  Columbus and You!!

                            
It may be stranger than fiction, but it may be true.

This a story that started a long time back.  It started in a land blessed
with abundant sunny days, plenty of water and fertile land.  People had
plenty of time and patience to think and grow many exotic foods.  Some of
them were spices that made ordinary foods taste like something extraordinary
to say the least.  Many traders who tasted these told others about these and
got them interested too.

The fame of spices and the people who grew them spread afar.  People wanted
to find the land and meet the people with a desire to get the best of it for
themselves.

One of them was an adventurer called Columbus.  He wanted to find the land
of spices,  India.  And he set out to do it.  He ended up in a place, he
thought was India.  He thought the people he met were Indians.  He never
knew that he was mistaken.  He died thinking that he had discovered India.
But,  in fact he had discovered what we now know as America.

We are all here because of an adventurer, who was then followed by others.
You and your parents are some of them.  We are all here because of spices
and India.
