>>>>REASONING

Just a quick way to play a CD. This little ditty will play a
CD start to finish even if you power it down or even if you
exit Windows. I got tired of waiting for the major full blown
home entertainment center programs to load when all I wanted to
do was play a darn pleasant jazz CD while I worked. Those huge
home centers also used up a lot of processor time and played
only one track unless you left them in memory. Thus the birth
of In Dash CD.

>>>>INSTALLING

Simply run SETUP-CD.EXE or......

Put MCI.VBX in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. Overwrite any
previous version of MCI.VBX that you might have, since this one
has enhanced 3-D colored buttons.

Put THREED.VBX in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder if you have not a
copy of that VBX there already.

Put VBRUN200.DLL in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder if you have not a
copy of that DLL there already.

Put INDASHCD.EXE anywhere you'd like and create an icon and
group for it in Program Manager.

>>>>OPERATION

Run INDASHCD.EXE by choosing RUN from your Program Manager menu
or double clicking its icon. Once it comes up, using the window
drag bar, put it where you would like it to come up all the time
(it remembers). Put a CD in your ROM drive. Click the "CD"
button once the busy light goes out. Hit the "PLAY" (>) button.
You can then power down by hitting the POWER button thereby
reducing the amount of system resources and processor time
available to other applications (but see REPEAT below).

>>>>EXTRA FEATURES

Clicking the little button in the upper left corner of the
player (/\) toggles the drag bar on and off. You can turn it
off to use less screen space. You must turn it on to move the
player around the screen. The player remembers where it was
when it gets powered down. It cannot be "stored" off of the
physical screen, however, so it will never "disappear" from the
screen even if you change resolution. If you run 1024x768 and
stick it down in the lower right corner of the screen and then
change to 640x480, the player will still appear in the lower
right corner of the screen when it comes up in that
resolution. To minimize the player, click the little button in
the upper right corner (\/) of the player. The plain-jane
buttons next to these two buttons are the REPEAT play toggle
which will cause your player to repeat the current CD forever
until you hit the STOP button. NOTE: You must MINIMIZE the
player to REPEAT play. Power down will cause the player to
play the CD only once regardless of the settings of the
repeat buttons.

>>>>CAVEATS

On occasion, and depending on the CD ROM drive installed in
your system, now and then you might have to "EJECT" a CD that
is in the drive then re-insert it to get the player to
recognize that there is a CD there.

>>>>HINTS

In Dash CD Player keeps its configuration in your WINDOWS
directory in a filenamed INDASHCD.INI. If you edit that file,
you may confuse the program so it won't run properly.
