WHEN YOU'RE READY TO MOVE UP TO THE FULL VERSION OF MICROSOFT MONEY

All the records you enter in the Microsoft Money Working Model
can be used with the full version of Microsoft Money. All you
do is open the file your records are stored in, as follows:

1 Exit from the Microsoft Money Working Model by choosing
	   Exit from the file menu.

2 Set up your copy of the full version of Microsoft Money
following the instructions in Chapter 2 of the User's Guide.

Typically, Microsoft Money will automatically open your
working model data file for you, so you can continue working
in it right where you left off.

If you installed Microsoft Money in a directory other
than the directory containing your working model, you'll
need to tell Microsoft Money where your working model
data file is located before you can work with the file.
For instructions, turn to page 101 of the User's Guide
and follow the steps under "To switch between two existing
	   files."

IMPORTANT! Be sure not to run the full version of Microsoft Money
at the same time you run the Microsoft Money Working Model. You must
exit from the working model before you start the full version.
Otherwise, both versions will try to use the same data file at the
same time, and your records will be damaged.

=======================================================

1. Importing information from CheckFree
-------------------------------------------------------
When you export your CheckFree 2.0 data to a QIF file
and import that QIF file into Microsoft Money, you
will need to make an adjustment to the opening balance
of your new Microsoft Money account. After importing,
please choose Account List from the List menu and
enter the correct opening balance for the account
imported from CheckFree. CheckFree 3.0 does not have
the ability to export to QIF.

2. Check printing on HP LaserJet Series IIp & IIIp
-------------------------------------------------------
If you experience check printing text alignment
problems on these printers, please contact
Hewlett-Packard or your printer dealer to acquire the
latest release of the HPPCL5A.DRV driver file.
Installing this driver via the Windows Control Panel
fixes these problems.

If this does not correct the problem or if you have
difficulty locating the necessary driver, then you can
adjust the location of printed text on your checks as
described in the next topic.

3. Fine-tuning check printing on laser printers
-------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Money automatically prints information in
the proper position on your checks. However, due to
printer variations and check variations, you may want
to fine-tune the print location yourself.

Use a text editor (such as Windows Notepad) to add the
following line to your MSMONEY.INI file (located in
the directory where you installed Microsoft Money):

PrintOffset=pY pX lY lX

pY Vertical print offset for checks in Portrait mode
    (full page of checks)

pX Horizontal print offset for checks in Portrait mode
    (full page of checks)

lY Vertical print offset for checks in Landscape mode
    (partial page of checks)

lX Horizontal print offset for checks in Landscape mode
    (partial page of checks)

All variables are expressed in integers (positive or
negative) and represent offsets in sixteenths (1/16) of
an inch.

Example: PrintOffset=2 0 -1 4 would do the following:
Full Pages of checks would print 1/8" lower than
normal. Partial Pages of checks would print 1/16"
higher than normal AND 1/4" to the right of normal.

4. Printing checks on the HP Deskjet printer
-------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Money recommends using Laser Voucher checks
with this printer or printing Laser Standard checks in
batches of three. Because the Deskjet, Deskjet PLUS
and the Deskjet 500 do not support manual feed, it is
difficult to align and print on partial pages of
checks. The default landscape font provides less than
optimal results.

Additionally, certain versions of the DeskJet 500
driver can cause out of memory errors. Updating the
driver or using the DESKJET.DRV driver from Windows
3.00a or higher solves this problem.

5. Printing on a Kyocera F-2010 laser printer
-------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Money recommends using Laser Voucher checks
with this printer or printing Laser Standard checks in
batches of three (to avoid printing on partial pages
of checks).

The Kyocera F-2010 printer will not print the leftmost
three inches of the page when printing in landscape
mode using the printer's manual feed. You can try
printing partial pages from the letter-sized tray, but
proper alignment of partial sheets of checks in the
tray may be difficult.

6. Printing checks on IBM 4019 & 4029 laser printers
-------------------------------------------------------
When printing a partial page of Laser Standard checks,
the manual feed orientation is the same as for a
normal 8.5 by 11 inch page. Do not rotate the partial
page "sideways" (90 degrees) as described on page 48
of the Microsoft Money documentation.

7. Printing reports on the Canon LBP-8 Mark III
-------------------------------------------------------
When printing reports on this printer there can be
column alignment problems, missing text and missing
underlines and other potential printing errors.

Please contact your printer dealer to inquire about
updates to the Windows drivers for this printer.

8. Printing on the Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e
-------------------------------------------------------
If you are running Windows 3.00 or 3.00a, you will need
to make two adjustments before using Microsoft Money
with a Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e printer.

After you have installed the Bubble-Jet driver, you
will need to change all occurrences of "Canon BJ-10e"
in your WIN.INI file to "Canon Bubble-Jet BJ-10e." To
do this, you will need to open your WIN.INI file with
a text editor (such as Windows Notepad). Search for
all occurrences of Canon BJ-10e (if you are using
Notepad, use the Find command on the Search menu).
When you find an occurrence, change the text to Canon
Bubble-Jet BJ-10e. When you have changed all
occurrences, save the file.

Next, add a line to your MSMONEY.INI file (located in
the same directory as MSMONEY.EXE). To do this, you
will need to open your MSMONEY.INI file with a text
editor (such as Windows Notepad). Add the following
line to the file:

UseDefaultPrSetup=1

Save the file and restart Microsoft Windows. You will
now be able to print on the Bubble-Jet. Microsoft
Money recommends using Laser Voucher checks or
printing Laser Standard checks in batches of three (to
avoid printing partial pages of checks). When
printing, you may receive a spurious error alert
"Invalid DC Index: 13". Just press Enter to continue
and you will be able to print normally. Remember to
remove these changes if you decide to use another
printer with Microsoft Money.

9. Printing with NEC PinWriter series
-------------------------------------------------------
Printing with the NEC PinWriter with the driver version
1.331 may cause an Unrecoverable Application Error.
Use the driver shipped with Windows 3.0 or contact NEC
for a more recent driver, version 1.37 or above.

10. Micrografx Postscript Printer Driver
-------------------------------------------------------
If you are printing with Micrographx Postscript Printer
driver prior to version 2.6, you will need to install
the Postscript driver that ships with Microsoft
Windows 3.0 or contact Micrografx for an updated
printer driver.

If you are printing with the Micrografx Postscript
Printer Driver version 2.6 or above the following line
needs to be added to the MSMONEY.INI file (located in
the same directory as MSMONEY.EXE). To do this, you
will need to open your MSMONEY.INI file with a text
editor (such as Windows Notepad). Add the following
line to the file:

UseDefaultPrSetup=1

Save the file and restart Microsoft Windows. You will
now be able to print using the Micrografx Postscript
driver.

11. NEC 800x600 video display adapters
-------------------------------------------------------
Certain versions of this display adapter may have
refresh and display problems. If you experience a
significant number of display errors (missing text,
partially drawn screens etc), then please contact your
NEC dealer for further information and the most recent
display driver.

12. Texas Instruments TIGA video display adapters
-------------------------------------------------------
The list dialog boxes in Microsoft Money may display
incorrectly with the current driver for the TIGA video
display adapter.

This display problem can be corrected by making the
following change to the MSMONEY.INI file (located in
the directory where you installed Microsoft Money).

Use a text editor (such as Windows Notepad) to add the
following line to your MSMONEY.INI file:

NoLightGray=1

Future versions of the driver may correct this
problem, allowing you to remove the line from your
MSMONEY.INI file.

13. ATM and DCS Speedstar graphics card
-------------------------------------------------------
Using Adobe Type Manager and a DCS Speedstar graphics
card set to 1024x768 resolution / 256 color may cause
an Unrecoverable Application Error in the Fonts dialog
in Reports. This can be corrected by installing a DCS
Speedstar driver with either lower resolution such as
the 800x600 resolution / 256 color driver, or with fewer
colors such as the 1024x768 resolution /16 color driver.
You may install these drivers through the Windows Control
Panel.

14. Multimedia machines & sound boards
-------------------------------------------------------
Some sound boards used with multimedia machines may
cause an Unrecoverable Application Error when entering
a transaction in Microsoft Money. To correct this, in
Microsoft Money, choose Settings from the Options
menu. Turn off the "Beep on Transaction Entry" option.

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Money!
