When you run the ULTIMA7 program you must also type a code word following
the program name.

The code word is "ABCD" and an ASCII 255 character (for a total of five
characters). To get an ASCII 255 character you must hold down the ALT
key and (while holding the ALT key down) type the numbers 2, 5, and 5 on
the numeric keypad.

eg. ULTIMA7 ABCDx

where "x" is the ASCII 255 character.

THIS batch file has been provided which already contains the necessary
code word. Just type U7CHT in order to run it.

Cheat system keys:
-----------------

Here are the keys that are available to you when you are walking around.
The ones that have a "??" in the comments column are those that didn't
seem to do much (or anything) when I tried them.

Cheat Codes:

F2 Cheat Main Menu
F3 Goto a map location
F4 Toggle "single step" mode (some processors require this)
F5 Cast spell (Spell #, <CR>, point, click)
F6 Barge Hack Cheat (I have no idea, but would like to know...)
F7 Toggle Traces (Again, no clue!)
F8 Read item (books, signs, items, and such)
F9 Target Report (point and click)
F10 Pathfind Test (???)
Alt-1 Sound Counter (Enter #, <CR>)
Alt-2 Frame Counter (???)
Alt-3 Sprite Effects (point and click <NEAT!>)
Alt-4 Dump item contents (point and click)

Some of these keys (and menu items in the cheat menus) require that you
know a number (ie. an NPC # (non-player character), a spell #, etc.).

A list of spells, items,& characters are provided in this dir

Stats and Eggs:
--------------

If you add a space and the letter "S" after the "ABCD" and ASCII 255
characters, then you can see a Status display while the program is
loading. This includes memory usage, files being read, etc.

When the program finishes it also displays some memory stats.

Also, when you use the "S" parameter special "Eggs" appear in various
locations. So far I have seen some that look like eggs, horseshoes,
and lightning bolts. All say "Egg" when you click on them. If you
pick up a lightning bolt while a cloud is going overhead the cloud
vanishes while you are holding the bolt. It comes back when the bolt
is dropped.

eg. ULTIMA7 ABCDx S

where "x" is the ASCII 255 character.

Other parameters:
----------------

The game does look for other command line parameters. However, I'm not
sure what they all do. Use at your own risk.

A It looks like you can type a number from 0 to 9 after the A.
B Displays a message at top of screen and doesn't run program. On my
machine I get the message: @Ovr=%uK, Line 36
C I think it expects a multiple digit number (hex?) (minimum value?)
P Used to run U7.EXE without first running ULTIMA7.COM (this one used
to work for me, but lately it just seems to lock the computer up).
(this is what ULTIMA7.COM uses to run U7.EXE)
R It looks like you can type a number from 0 to 9 after the R.
S See "bonus" description above. Displays load/memory status and "Eggs".
? Displays version information.
