From: Steve La Date: 25 Aug 91 07:50:19 GMT Organization: Cal State Long Beach I have a good news for all you SuperFamicom/SuperNES gamers. ** SuperNES and SuperFamicom are COMPATIBLE!!! Yes! I just modified my SuperFamicom tonight and plug in my friend's Super Mario World (US version) cart and it works!!! I've also modified his SuperNES to play all Japanese games. He is now playing my Super R-Type on his SuperNES system. how to modify your system? For the SuperFamicom system: You will have to file your cartridge insert area (similar to Genesis) wider. The SuperNES cartridges are a little larger (square) than the SFC carts. This process will take you approximately 5-10 minutes. For the SuperNES system: There are two plastic barriers on the bottom of your cartridge port. Use a sharp knife or a wire cutter to cut of those two blocks. It only took me 30 seconds to do this! Extremely easy! Differences between the two systems? Everything are virtually the same except the following: 1. The power supply connector are not the same. 2. SuperNES carts are square and larger than the SuperFamicom carts. General comments: Cartridge ports, Video output port, Joystick port on both systems are compatible to each other. THIS IS THE FACT! Hope this help, have fun... -Steve
