The Commodore Amiga 2000 targets business and professional users with applications ranging from business productivity to desktop publishing, presentation and video to CAD/CAM engineering workstations. Supported by various word processing, spreadsheet, database and accounting software, the Commodore Amiga 2000 reaches new office productivity limits with its multi-tasking capability, speed, open architecture, and PC-XT compatibility. In addition to interfacing with the most popular laser printers and high-resolution photo typesetters, its on-screen grey scale provides true what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) results. The Commodore Amiga 2000 is designed for desktop presentation which includes desktop graphics and video. Desktop graphics applications include slide generation, transparency production, electronic blackboards and photodigitizing. Desktop video applications are easy-to-master with genlocking, real-time frame capture, titling, animation and built-in NTSC-compatible output. The Commodore amiga 2000's high powered graphics capability is also ideally suited for computer-aided design and engineering applications. Versatile enought to be either a stand-alone workstation or a terminal in a local area network, users can create everything from mechanical blueprints to full-color package designs. Basic to the Commodore Amiga 2000 system is on Megabyte of RAM easily expandable to nine Megabytes, a built-in 3 1/2 inch disk drive, custom sound, animation and graphics chips, a detachable 92-key keyboard with separate numeric keypad and ten function keys, and a two-button optomechanical mouse. RS232 serial and Centronics parallel connectors as well as two RCA audio output jacks are standard.
