                         WHAT IS SHAREWARE ?

Shareware (or Freeware as some incorrectly call it), is an exciting
concept in purchasing computer software (also known as computer programs).
Under the regular method, you go to your computer store or mail order
firm, and pay from $50.00 to $500.00 and even more for software which
promises to do everything you want and even more. If the software does
not do what you wanted, the money is gone, and your search must be
started again. In addition, the author(s) of the software usually
receive very little of the money you paid for the software. Most of your
cost went to marketing, pretty packages and middlemen. Then someone
decided to write a program, give copies away to anyone who wanted it
and said "If you like it please donate $???.?? directly to me in an
effort to reimburse me for the countless hours and knowledge that went
into writing it. If, however, it does not do what you need it to or
what I say it does, pass it along to someone else and possibly it will
do what he or she wants it to and pay NOTHING !

When you purchase shareware disks you are NOT buying the program or the
rights to use the program beyond a reasonable evaluation period. You are
only paying a small copying and distribution charge (which almost never
goes to the author) and you are strongly asked to respect the wishes of
the various authors whose hours of work make up the large variety of
    shareware that is available.

The only way that this great concept works is if enough people who
use these programs everyday are honest enough to pay the small amount
that the author asks so that he (and others) will continue to write
programs and distribute them in this way because he /she has no idea
who has their programs and who doesn't. That way the authors make more
money, you and I pay far less money for the software we use, and
everyone is happy! Also, usually you get something else for your money
when you register your software. So please, make your payment today if
the program you received does what you want.

If you use and depend on Public Domain programs, we urge you to support
software writers with registration. Their name, address and
registration amount are listed in the NOTES.TXT or like file with each
disk. Your registration will provided the funds to up-grade the programs
and ensure that you are notified of any changes.

                           GETTING HELP

If after reading the instructions on the disk, and after a little
trial and error, you find that you cannot make the program work, a few
     possibilities are:
     1. Your machine is not quite as 100% IBM-PC compatible as you previously
     were led to believe.
     2. The program in question has a few bugs with regard to your computer,
as unfortunately we cannot test the program on every possible computer
to check the programs out as thoroughly as we would like but we give it
     our best shot.
     3. You are making a small error in the execution of the program, and it
is suggested that you read the whole of the disk carefully for further
     information.
     4. Your copy of the disk may have had a duplication error and/or the
disk may be a faulty disk; and if all else fails, send the disk(s) back
to the person or company from whom they were received for same to
re-copied. However, do not send the disk to the author unless that is
     where it was received.
