APO:Is The Holy Spirit Female?

Recently a missionary candidate, Denny Davis, was dropped by his
missiion board, Word for the World Baptist Missions. Following his
dismissal candidate Davis mailed out a fifteen page letter (dated July
3, 1989) which was a defense of his position. Mr. Davis' defense is
divided into two basic sections. The first section consists of his
dispute with his former mission board. This makes up the first four and
the last two pages of his letter. The second and major section consists
of a presentation of his own personal doctrine that basically claims
that:

   1. The Holy Spirit is female

   2. There is to be a "3rd Testament" after the New Testament

   3. Davis' female Holy Spirit will appear as a man in this third
testament and die for our "iniquities." Davis claims that Jesus only
died for our sins so the Holy Spirit will die for our iniquities.

Since the Davis/Word for the World dispute is basically their
business and conclusions drawn from it are subject to human prejudice
(in other words, that party that you "like" will most likely be deemed
by you to be "right") and distorted reporting, this file will not
address it. They are ALL "big boys" now and will have to live with
their own choices and decisions.

But, Davis' assertion that one third of the Godhead is female is an
attack on the person of God. It is not a distortion of the truth for
there is no truth in it. I couldn't care less what men believe about
bloodsucking angels, gap theories, the present state of paradise or any
other personal non-essential opinion they might have. Any honest man in
the ministry will admit that some of his closest friends may have
differing views on any number of Bible passages.

   A good example is I Corinthians 13:10.

"But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part
shall be done away."

Some say "that which is perfect" is Jesus Christ. Some say it is the
bible. Some may even have another interpretation. But regardless of
your opinion, it is not (or should not be) something that you break
fellowship over.

But Davis' perversion of Scripture tampers with God Himself. THAT
cannot be accepted and his shallow arguments go unrefuted. The exposure
of Denny Davis' twisted teaching is the purpose of this file.

Davis' demented path of untruth begins on page five of his letter.
He quotes Genesis 1:27. Then states:

Genesis 1:27--"So God created man in his own image, in the image of
God created he him; male and female created he them."

"The scriptures teach that 'God created man in his own image.' But
what IS that image? Immediately the Bible believer replies, 'Spirit,
soul, and body,' unless he is carnal-minded and is at enmity with God
(Romans 8:7), in which case he names them in reverse order to emphasize
the flesh. Nevertheless, what IS evident from his reply is that HE
UNDERSTANDS HE IS MORE THAN ONE PERSON, LIKE HIS CREATOR!

However, verses 26 and 27 of Genesis chapter one say nothing at all
about 'spirit, soul, and body'; and although Genesis 2:7 is an indirect
reference to these three, the phrase itself does not occur until I
Thessalonians 5:23. What Genesis 1:27 DOES teach is that those persons
comprising man created in the image of God are 'male and female'! Men
are often prone to overlook what is in plain sight; and what IS plain
from this verse is that the man, 'him,' made 'in the image of God', is,
like his creator, more than one person, 'them', and that those persons
are 'male and female!'

Here Davis quotes one verse and then concludes that God is both
"male and female!" Anyone with any intellect at all should see that it
is both shady and dangerous to base such a major doctrinal teaching on
one verse. And a vague one at that!

First let's look at Davis' first question. "But what IS that image?"
(emphasis his). Davis claims that the image of God is his "spirit,
soul, and body." That's what Davis says. The Bible says:

II Corinthians 4:4--"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the
minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel
of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Hebrews 1:3--"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express
image of his person, and uphoolding all things by the word of his
power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right
hand of the Majesty on high;"

Colossians 1:5--"Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of every creature:"

According to the Bible, Christ is the image of God. Besides this
evident fact, anyone can see that man can be in God's image, and not
necessarily His sex. If you put a silhouette of a man on one side of a
piece of paper and a silhouette of a woman and any number of other
items from a camel to a football, even a child could pick out which one
is the same image as the man. An image does not infer sex.

Davis' next abstraction of scripture is to quote Psalms 34:2.

Psalms 34:2--"My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble
shall hear thereof, and be glad."

On the basis of this one verse Davis concludes "A man's soul is
female and his spirit is male." He then backs it up with a reference to
the sex of a tree! (Jeremiah 17:7,8). This somehow is supposed to prove
that a man's soul and God's spirit are female.(!) The sex of a tree has
no bearing on the sex of either God OR man. He later cross references
Psalms 11:1 with Proverbs 27:8 in another feeble attempt to prove that
the soul is female. Yet there is nothing in scripture to infer that
Psalms 11:1 is a legitimate cross reference with Proverbs 27:8 with a
docrinal teaching as its purpose.

Davis' ridiculous assertion that the soul of man is female is
inconsistent and scripturally wrong. There are several obvious problems
with it.

   1. Davis first claims that the Godhead is made up of;

   God the Father - male

   God the Son - male

God the Holy Spirit - female then he claims that man is:

   spirit - male

   soul - female

   body - male

But wait! Don't you see the inconsistency? If man is triune, as God,
then our three parts obviously correspond to God's three parts.

The "spirit" is the easiest to connect. Our spirit would parallel
God's Holy Spiirt. Our body would parallel Jesus the son who was given
a body (Hebrews 10:5,10). Therefore our soul would have to parallel,
NOT the "feminine" Holy Spirit, but God the F- A-T-H-E-R!

God the Father - male man's soul - female

God the Son - male BUT man's body - male

God the Holy Spirit - female man's spirit - male

Are we to believe that in God's desire to make man 2/3 male "just
like Him" that He messed up the order?

This brings up a couple of other interesting questions. What is a
woman?

   woman's spirit - male woman's spirit - female

   woman's soul - female OR woman's soul - male

   woman's body - female woman's body - male

Is a woman capable of being a "pure" female but a man cannot be a
"pure" male? Then God cannot be "pure" male, but MARY can be "pure"
female! The women's libbers and the Roman Catholics will fight to the
death over who benefits the most from such a demented teaching.

To be consistent, either God's soul (the Father) must be female like
"our" soul or our spirit must be female like Him. It doesn't make any
sense. Insanity never does!

   2. If a man's soul is female and God's Spirit is female, what was
Jesus?

   Jesus' body - male

   Jesus' soul - female

   Jesus' spirit - female

Will Davis next teach that the Son of God was 2/3 female? Or just
1/3?

Don't laugh. Using Davis' demented method of scripture application I
can prove that Jesus was a woman!

Isaiah 53:7 says that he would be "as sheep before HER shearers is
dumb" and Leviticus 27:4 shows that the thirty pieces of silver He was
sold for was the price of a female slave! That's two clear verses, not
a vague Genesis 1:27. It is also absurd. Just like Davis' teaching.

   3. In trying to pove he could find something in Scripture that no
one else had, Davis ran a bunch of references in his concordance to
look for male/female references to man's soul, birds, spirits. But he
has overlooked the Bible itself.

   Read the following passage:

Luke 16:22-25 - "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was
carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and
was buried;

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my
tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst
thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is
comforted, and thou art tormented."

   Notice that:

   1. the rich man's soul went to hell -- v. 23

   2. in hell the rich man was a MAN -- v. 23 - (he lift his eyes)

   3. in Paradise Abraham was a MAN -- v. 23 (his bosom)

   4. in Paradise Lazarus was a MAN -- v. 24 (his finger)

   5. the rich man called Abraham "father" not "Mother" -- v. 24

   6. Abraham called the rich man "Son" not "daughter" -- v. 25

These are three souls conversing after death and they are ALL the
same as they were before death. They are all MALE. But since this
passage doesn't have the word "soul" or "bird" in it, and Davis doesn't
read his Bible he only "studies" it (II Timothy 2:15), he overlooked
the passage when he ran the references in his concordance.

   4. Jesus Christ, our LORD, our SAVIOUR who was God in the Flesh said
that the Holy Spirit was a male.

John 14:16,17,26 -- "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give
you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth
with you, and shall be in you.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will
send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to
your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

John 15:26 -- "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto
you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from
the Father, he shall testify of me:"

John 16:7,8,13-15 -- "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is
expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter
will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

And when be is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it
unto you.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he
shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you."

Here are nine plain verses where Jesus Christ says that the Holy
Spirit is a male. Yet Davis faced this glaring problem (leave it to the
BIBLE to mess up somebody's "theology") says at the top of his 12th
page, "The Holy Ghost will not teach you to nullify one verse of
scripture with another." (Remember this "rule" is Davis' opinion, not
Bible teaching.) Well, how about NINE verses that PLAINLY state that
the Holy Spirit is male against ONE verse (Genesis 1:27) which does NOT
teach the Holy Spirit is female but which Denny Davis thinks teaches
that?! I think the score works out something like this:

   Jesus - 9, Davis - 0

At the bottom of page six of Davis' letter he makes an ominous
statement which may have more bearing on his perverted teaching than at
first meets the eye. He says,

"Here is some poor fool who is 'without excuse' because he could
have understood the "invisible" spiritual things of the Word of God by
learning from creation (Romans 1:20). What does he do? He announces one
day that he has always felt like a female inside and begins counselling
for a sex-change operation! How shameful! But is it not because of
ignorance?"

Since the Holy Spirit is male and our soul is male, any "man" who
claims to feel "like a female inside" gets his spirit from somewhere
else. Is Davis claiming that if this sap knew that he really was a
female inside (according to Davis) that he would no longer desire a sex
change operation? No, it would just justify with scripture his
perverted homosexual desires!

It is my personal feelings that people who dwell on "men who feel
like a woman inside," sex change operations and sex education (page
nine) have a sex problem of their own! I don't know what Davis does in
his closet, nor what he "feels like" inside, but he needs to keep the
Bible out of it. It won't justify him any more than it justified all of
those poor men from Sodom and Gomorrah who "felt like females inside"
but didn't have Davis' grasp of this "deep spiritual truth!" (By the
way, Denny, homosexuality is rampant because of sin (Ezekiel 16:49,50)
not because of ignorance of the Word of God.)

On page seven of his letter, Davis quotes Isaiah 5:14 and states
that hell is female. Tell THAT to women's libbers!) Fine. What does
that prove about the Spirit of God or the soul of man? Nothing! He then
misapplies four verses from Proverbs (Proverbs 30:20; 23:27,28; and
22:14) referring to an adulterous woman and claims they refer to hell.
They don't. They apply to an adulterous woman! Typical of Davis'
inability to "rightly divide the word of truth."

At this point, just as you are beginning to believe that Davis is
only "a little" crazy, and "going down hill" at a slight angle, he
"noses over" and quotes Luke 1:35.

"And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come
upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God."

Somehow this verse teaches Davis (and no sane people) that both God
the Father and the Holy Spirit (the Mother) came upon Mary to conceive
Jesus!

"Now here is an important point. The virgin Mary is not the mother
of God as Rome teaches. Notice that it is not at all a matter of "Mary
the mother" and "God the Father!" The female member of the Godhead,
"the Holy Ghost," came upon Mary first; and then God the Father, "the
power of the Highest," overshadowed her. Mary was only the vessel in
which the male and female members of the Godhead came together!"

Davis believes that the Godhead is:

   God the Father

   God the Son - (Jesus)

God the Mother - (Holy Spirit) Read it yourself!

"In describing the Godhead, men will say, 'God the Father,' thus
ascribing to the first person of the Godhead gender and position in a
family. Then again, men will say 'God the Son,' also ascribing gender
and position in the family of God. But how blasphemous to God the Holy
Ghost for men to then imply that the Godhead is 'queer' in its
composition having only male persons! God the Holy Ghost is female
spirit!"

At this point he goes from "wresting" scripture to unrestrained
perversion. His perversion, not God's!

The multitude of flaws in this reason fall like rocks in an
avalanche.

   1. "the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of Highest
shall overshadow thee."

Here Davis reasons that this is a reference to two portions of the
Godhead and not the Holy Ghost alone.

What is wrong with his reasoning?

   A. If God is "the Highest" certainly even a young Christian would
recognize the Holy Spirit as "the power of the Highest."

   B. Nowhere in scripture is God the Father referred to as "the power
of the Highest."

   C. In perverting one verse Davis has to ignore two verses which
plainly show that only the Holy Ghost came upon Mary.

Matthew 1:18,20 -- "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came
together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear
not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her
is of the Holy Ghost."

Again Davis is guilty on interpreting a clear passage by a vague one.

   2. Davis tries to teach that Mary was not Jesus' mother (Jesus'
mother, not God's mother).

But the Holy Spirit, while inspiring the New Testament writers
called her His "Mother" time and time again. Not the following verses;
Matthew 1:18; 2:11,13,14,20,21; 12:46; Mark 3:31; Luke 1:43;
2:33,34,43; 2:48,51; 8:19; John 2:1,3,5,12; and Acts 1:14! That's
twenty verses that are contrary to Davis' opinion. That makes the score:

   The Holy Spirit - 20, Davis - 0.

   3. Davis claims that Mary did not conceive when the Holy Ghost came
upon her (the Bible teaches this, but not Davis).

He states, "Mary was only the vessel in which the male and female
members of the Godhead came together!" Thus Davis believes that God
conceived of God.

If the Holy Spirit were female, as Davis contends, then the union of
Mary and the Holy Spirit would amount to "divine Lesbianism." BUT, the
implications of what Davis actually thinks, that God used Mary as a
place where God the Father "came together" with Himself, is a depravity
that defies description! It also reveals the demented thought life of
its author! Davis might also be reminded that the "wife" of God the
Father is Israel, NOT God the Holy Spirit.

   4. The New King James Version is indeed a perversion, but Davis
cannot seem to see that its rendering of Galatians 4:4 is more in line
with his teaching than the King James.

Galatians 4:4 -- "But when the fulness of the time was come, God
sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,"

If God the Holy Spirit conceived of God the Father, then indeed
Jesus was "born of a woman" but not "made" of a woman. Somehow Davis
seems to think that a verse that plainly refutes his teaching,
authenticates it!

   Read that: King James - 1, Davis - 0.

In fact, Davis overlooks the unmistakable teaching of Genesis 3:15
that Jesus would be of the seed of a woman.

Genesis 3:15 -- "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,
and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt bruise his heal."

Or that a virgin would conceive and bear a son.

   Isaiah 7:14 -- "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanual."

Better make that: King James - 3, Davis - 0

Davis keeps shaking the fear of supporting Roman Catholic teaching
on the deity of Mary at anyone who disagrees with his raving. Yet it is
in fact Davis who supports the fundamental Roman Catholic teaching of a
female deity.

At the top of page eight of his letter Davis claims that the Godhead
is a "family unit." Thus he believes and states that it is "God the
Father," "God the Son," and though he doesn't have the guts to say it,
"God the MOTHER."

Davis also makes another statement that reveals the confusion of
reality that reigns in his head. He states, "But how blasphemous to God
the Holy Ghost for men to then imply that the Godhead is 'queer' in its
composition having only male persons!"

Thus, somehow, a God who is all male is a "queer" but one that is
1/3 female is NORMAL!

Apparently a man who is all male is also a "queer" but one who is
1/3 effeminate is NORMAL. Thus you see, that which truly IS normal,
i.e. a masculine man, is called "queer" by Davis. But if you admit to
feeling "like a female inside" then you are "normal." Note his
statement! "I said that the Godhead is both male and female spirit, and
you are made in God's likeness with both male and female spirit!" Maybe
Davis is "normal" by his standards, but I wouldn't leave him in a room
alone with any "abnormal" little boys.

Next Davis bemoaned his rejection while Jack Hyles can get away with
teaching that the woman is the Holy Spirit of the family. If that is
what Hyles teaches he's as wrong as Davis. My wife doesn't "lead" me
anywhere. And nowhere in scripture is woman defined as being like the
Holy Spirit.

Davis could probably write some "unique" porno books, but he needs
to let the Bible alone!

Next Davis claims that the Holy Spirit is female because Noah sent
out a female dove.

"Have you not believed that the dove sent forth by Noah 'to see if
the waters were abated' is a type of the Holy Ghost? Did you notice the
dove's gender when Noah 'took HER and pulled HER in unto him into the
ark' and again when 'the dove came in to him...and, lo, in HER mouth
was an olive leaf pluckt off'? (Genesis 8:9,11).

Oh sure, and Jesus was a woman because he said, Luke 13:34, "O
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that
are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children
together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would
not!"

Frankly, I don't care if Noah threw his wife overboard, it wouldn't
make the Holy Spirit a female!

Davis has to attempt to teach his doctrine by typology because the
Bible clearly teaches the opposite.

Next Davis attempts to hide in Isaiah 11:2.

"Has the Holy Ghost never taught you of 'the seven spirits of
God...before the throne' which are 'sent forth into all the earth'?
(Revelation 4:5 and 5:6). Have you never read in Isaiah 11:2 how that
the Lord's Servant has the fullness of the Holy Ghost 'and the spirit
of the LORD shall rest upon him'? Did you notice that six of the seven
were named in the same verse along with 'the LORD'? They are Wisdom,
Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge, and Fear. Have you never
heard their voices in the book of Proverbs? HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT EVERY
ONE OF THEM IS FEMALE?

Who is it, if you can tell, that gives the following admonition and
promise?

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you (Proverbs 1:23).

Is it not Wisdom who implores men to repent? BUT WISDOM IS A FEMALE!"

Here Davis stumbles onto his first and only spiritual truth and then
blindly stumbles right past it with no understanding of what he has
read. He proudly acclaims: "BUT WISDOM IS A FEMALE." If he had read
Proverbs 8 his discovery would have been greatly enforced. But wisdom
is NOT eternal like the Holy Spirit is.

   Proverbs 8:22-31:

22 - The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his
works of old.

23 - I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the
earth was.

24 - When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were
no fountains abounding with water.

25 - Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I
brought forth:

26 - While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields nor the
highest part of the dust of the world.

27 - When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a
compass upon the face of the depth:

28 - When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the
fountains of the deep:

29 - When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not
pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30 - Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily
his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31 - Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights
were with the sons of men.

Notice that verses 22 and 23 state that wisdom had a beginning. The
Holy Spirit has always existed.

Secondly, notice that Isaiah 11:2 doesn't refer to "wisdom," but the
"spirit" of wisdom, and the "spirit" of understanding, etc.

Isaiah 11:2 -- "And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the
spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord."

"Wisdom" may be personified as feminine in gender, but the "spirit"
of wisdom is the Holy Spirit, MASCULINE! Even Davis, in fifteen pages
of rambling hasn't been able to produce even one verse that plainly
says that the Spirit of the LORD is female. (Note: Compare Isaiah 11:2
with Exodus 31:2,3 and see how it Scripturally functions.)

At the bottom of page nine Davis goes into a tirade against anyone
who rejects his demented ramblings. He concludes with Hebrews 10:39 to
show that anyone who doesn't accept his teaching is LOST. Revoking the
believer's salvation is a cheap trick that is practiced by every
heretic who uses it to hold sway over his adherents.

Sorry, Den, I believe that the Holy Spirit is male, I believe you
are perverted, and I'm STILL going to Heaven!

If Davis has been "heading down hill" at page ten he goes into a
vertical dive from which he never recovers. His theology leaves nothing
but a smoking hole in the ground as he next attempts to teach that
there will be a 3rd Testament and a bodily appearance AND DEATH of the
Holy Spirit. (!)

For this "great discovery" he produces no scripture at all, except
to ramble on about "the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost" being a
chronology. Of course, Shadrach, Meshak and Abednego are also always
given in the same chronological order. (And after Abednego appears "the
form of the fourth...like the Son of God." Build on that, Denny!) I
wonder if Davis baptizes "In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy
GIRL?"

Davis is then faced with such obvious scriptural contradiction to
his babbling that he is forced to acknowledge it.

"You will say, 'But the Son was revealed in the gospels and the Holy
Ghost wass revealed in the New Testament at Pentecost.' That is true,
but your conclusions concerning those things are incorrect. There are
several reasons why, I will mention two."

He claims that he produced two (of "several") reasons why this
elementary Bible truth is incorrect.

   His first is:

"In the first place, the New Testament does not EMPHASIZE the Holy
Ghost; it emphasizes the Lord Jesus Christ!"

But where on earth (or under it) did Davis get the idea that the
Holy Ghost is EVER to be "emphasized?"

Jesus said this concerning the Holy Spirit. John 15:26 -- "But when
the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even
the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify
of me:"

Jesus said when the Holy Ghost came that He would "emphasize" Jesus,
not himself! What else will He do?

John 16:8-11 -- "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

   Of sin, because they believe not on me;

   Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged." But what
will He NOT do?

John 16:13 -- "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you
things to come."

So, whether now or in the "3rd" testament, the Holy Spirit will NOT
speak of Himself. That means that Davis' fifteen pages of illogical,
inaccurate and incorrect ramblings ABOUT the Holy Spirit couldn't
POSSIBLY be OF the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit does NOT "speak
of Himself."

This thought also leads me to wonder if Davis doesn't really believe
that he has written an "Epistle of St. Denny" under the inspiration of
his female deity to "emphasize" her? Does Davis consider himself a "3rd
testament" prophet?

His "second reason" for disregarding scriptural teaching on the Holy
Spirit is because Davis believes that his "female" Holy Spirit is going
to come to earth AS A MAN and die!

Before going into his newest and deepest "ditch" he, at the bottom
of page eleven and top of page twelve, warns his reader not to believe
the obvious teaching of the masculinity of the Holy Spirit contrary to
his deprivation of Genesis 1:27. The hot air of this argument has been
dispensed with earlier.

He now is prepared to "take the plunge" into utter insanity and hope
that you will join him. He confidently states:

"As I said before, the Godhead is made up of male and female; and
when the Holy Ghost incarnate is come, THE FEMALE MEMBER OF THE GODHEAD
IN A MALE BODY..."

He now attempts to convince himself, and us, that the "his Christ"
spoken of in Revelation 11:15 is the Holy Spirit. (Please don't read
Luke 2:25-32. Denny will be embarrassed.)

Davis jabbers, "'HIS CHRIST' is 'the mediator of a better covenant'
which he 'will make...with the house of Israel AFTER THOSE DAYS.' The
mediator of the Third Testament, the Lord's Christ who is the Holy
Ghost incarnate, he will also, by the way, be the one that suffers
death in order to make the 'new covenant' (Hebrews 8:8-13) of force."

I might mention here that somehow Davis slips at the bottom of page
twelve and states that this bodily appearance will take place during
the millennium.

"God has 'appointed a day' of one thousand years, the millennium,
'the day of the Lord,' in which he will judge the world in
righteousness."

Having succeeded (he feels) in proving that God is a 1/3 female
sexual pervert (Romans 1:22,23) and that his "female" Holy Spirit will
appear in a male body, (he doesn't divulge the sex of her/his soul) he
now attacks (I said "attacks") the all sufficiency of the death of
Jesus Christ. (We're not talking about "gap theories" here!)

Davis blubbers, "Someone will say, 'But there is only ONE Saviour
and only ONE sacrifice forever'; BUT YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN! I is only
'one sacrifice FOR SINS forever.' (Hebrews 10:12.) The mediator of the
Third Testament, the Lord's Christ who is the Holy Ghost incarnate does
not die for sins. HE DIES FOR INIQUITIES!"

That his ravings are unfounded is evident for numerous reasons:

   1. The Bible does distinguish between "sins," "iniquities," and
"transgressions." But Jesus paid for ALL of these as is evident in
Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 53:5--"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

6 - All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to
his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

10 - Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to
grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see
his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall
prosper in his hand.

11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many;
for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 - Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he
shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his
soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he
bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

It is obvious that Davis never learned to READ. It is a same that he
had to learn to write!

   2. His wrestling of Obadial 1:21 and Nehemiah 9:27 are references to
Israel's army and the judges. NOT to Jesus' death and the Holy Spirit's
"death."

   3. That the Holy Spirit will make a "future" appearance in a man's
body is ridiculous in light of Jesus' statements in John 14:16,17,26;
15:26; and 16:7.

Here the Lord is talking to His apostles concerning the arrival of
the Holy Spirit. Notice, in these verses, how many times He said "to
you." His apostles are long dead. If the Holy Spirit didn't arrive in
their lifetime then Jesus lied. (Or didin't know as much as Denny
Davis.)

   4. Davis claims that "SINS ARE DEFILING SPIRITS THAT ARE MALE IN
GENDER!" He then produces three scripture references which he is wise
enough not to quote. His first reference is Genesis 4:7 and isn't a
reference to sin at all. His second is Romans 6:16 where if Davis'
interpretation is correct we are to believe that both "sin" AND
"obedience" are "SPIRITS THAT ARE MALE IN GENDER." His final attempt is
II Thessalonians 2:3 which is plainly (once again) a reference to the
"man of sin" and not sin itself.

He then gives two references in poetic books to argue that
"iniquities" are "SPIRITUAL ENTITIES THAT ARE FEMALE IN GENDER!"

What Davis DOES succeed at is to expose to his readers that he has a
preoccupation with sex. He reads about trees, hell, birds, souls, sin
and iniquities and all he can see is sex! Until finally his depraved
viewpoint spills over to his definition of God, who is three parts, ALL
MALE. A fact that is lost to Davis' foggy mental process.

Davis' preoccupation with sex, coupled with the ever popular
philosophy of Acts 17:21 (read it) work together to produce an imaged
Bible doctrine that would please only: the Roman Catholic Church (deity
of Mary), women's libbers (they presently have a nude female called
"Christa" nailed on a cross) and, of course, Prophet Davis.

That it is evident that the REAL Holy Spirit (the male one) didn't
show Davis ANY of this is evident for the following reasons.

   1. As mentioned earlier, the Holy Spirit doesn't "speak of Himself"
so a fifteen page letter "emphasizing" Him can't be from Him.

   2. A male Holy Spirit isn't going to tell anyone that He's a
"female."

   3. The Holy Spirit will "guide you into all truth" (John 16:13) and
there is no scriptural truth in anything that Davis has attempted to
prove.

Davis may be a good husband and father. He may be a "good preacher."
He may be an "all-round nice guy." I don't know him and can't pass
judgment in any of these areas. But, plainly, his teaching on the Holy
Spirit is ill-conceived, misapplied and totally wrong, and in this he
and it are to be rejected.
