PER:Understanding the Trinity by Dave Hunt

Many Christians are at a loss to understand, much less to defend,
the "trinity" when the word is not even found in the Bible. To deal
with that issue, we must begin with God, as the Bible itself does.
There are two general concepts of God: (1) pantheism/naturalism, that
the universe itself is God; and (2) supernaturalism, that the Creator
is distinct from His Creation. Within these are two more opposing
views: (1) polytheism, that there are many gods; and (2) monotheism,
that there is only one true God.

Monotheism itself is divided into two rival beliefs: (1) that God is
a single being; and (2) that God has always existed in three persons
who are separate and distinct yet One. Obviously, Christians, are the
only ones who hold the latter view -- and even some who call themselves
Christians reject it. Yet it is the only logically and philosophically
coherent view of God possible.

Pantheism has the same fatal flaws as atheism. If everything is God,
to be God has lost all meaning and so nothing is God. The problems with
the polytheism are equally obvious. There is no real God who is in
charge, so the many gods fight wars and steal one another's wives.
There's no basis for morals, truth or peace in heaven or earth.
Polytheism's basic problem is: diversity without unity.

The belief that God is a single being is held by both Moslems and
Jews, who insist that Allah and Jehovah are single entities. It is also
held by pseudo-Christian cults such as the Jehovah's Witnesses and
Mormons--and by various aberrant Christian groups who also deny the
deity of Christ. Some Pentecostals claim that God is a single being and
that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are God's three "titles" or "offices."
Here we have unity without diversity.

That God must have both unity and diversity is clear. The Allah of
Islam and the Jehovah of Jehovah's Witnesses and Jews, for instance, is
incomplete in himself, unable to experience love, fellowship and
communion before creating beings with whom he could have these
experiences. The Bible says that "God is love." But the God of Islam
and Judaism could not be love in and of himself--for whom could he love
when he was alone before creation?

This belief that God is a single entity (Unitarianism) and not three
persons existing eternally in One God (Trinitarianism) was first
formulated in the early church around 220 A.D. by a Libyan theologian
named Sabellius. He attempted to retain Biblical language concerning
Father, Son and Holy Spirit without acknowledging the Triune nature of
God. Sabellius claimed that God existed as a single being who
manifested Himself in three activities, modes or aspects: as Father in
the creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Spirit in prophecy and
sanctification. This heresy, though condemned by the vast majority of
Christians, survives to this day.

The Bible presents a God who did not need to create any beings to
experience love, communion and fellowship. This God is complete in
Himself, being three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, separate and
distinct yet at the same time eternally One God. They loved and
communed and fellowshiped with each other and took counsel together
before the universe, angels or man were brought into existence. Isaiah
"heard the voice or the LORD [in eternity past] saying, Whom shall I
send and who will go for us?" (Isaiah 6:8) Moses revealed the same
counseling together of the Godhead: "And God said, Let us make man in
our image after our likeness"; and again "Let us go down and there
confound their language" (Gen. 1:26. 11:7). Who is this us if God is a
single entity/ Why does God say, "The man is become as one of us" (Gen
3:22)?

Moreover, if God is a single being, then why is the plural Hebrew
noun Elohim (literally "Gods") used for God repeatedly? In fact, this
plural noun is in the center of Israel's famous confession of the
oneness of God! The Shaman declares: "Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God
is one Lord" Hebrew word echad allows for a unity of more than one. For
example, it is used in Gen. 2:24 where man and woman became one flesh;
in Exod. 36:13 when the various parts "became one tabernacle" in 2 Sam.
2:25 when many soldiers "became one troop"; and elsewhere.

Nor is the word Elohim the only way in which God's plurality is
presented. For example, Psalm 149:2 "Let Israel rejoice in his maker
(literally "makers"); Ecclesiastes 12:1 "Remember now they creator
(lit. "creators"); and Isaiah 54:4, "For thy maker is thine husband
(lit. makers, husbands"). Unitarianism has no explanation for this
consistent presentation of God's plurality all through the Old
Testament. Although the word "trinity" does not occur in the Bible, the
concept is clearly there, providing the unity and diversity that makes
possible the love, fellowship and communion within the Godhead. Truly
the Trinitarian God is love--and He alone.

Jesus said, "The Father loveth the Son and hath given all things,
into his hand"(Jn 3:35). God's love is not just toward mankind but
first of all among the three persons of the Godhead. And three persons
they must be. Father, Son and Holy Spirit can't be mere offices, titles
or modes in which God manifests Himself, for such cannot love, consult
and fellowship together. Not only the Son is presented as a person, but
so are the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Bible presents each as
having His own personality: each wills, acts, loves, cares, can be
grieved or become angry. "Offices" or "Titles" don't do that!
Unitarianism isn't Biblical--and it robs the Godhead of the necessary
qualities of true Deity.

Godhead? Is that a Biblical term? Yes, indeed. It occurs three times
in the King James New Testament: in Acts 17:29, Rom. 1:20, and Col.
2:9. In contrast to these, which is used consistently throughout the
New Testament for God, three different but related Greek words occur in
these verses (theios, theiotes, theotes), which the King James
translators (here's another reason for preferring the KJV!) carefully
designated by the special word, Godhead. That very term indicates a
plurality of being. Paul wrote, "In him dwelleth all the fullness of
the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9). Did he simply mean that in Christ dwelt
all the fullness of Himself? That would be like saying that in me
dwells all the fullness of me. Well, of course it does--so why say it,
and what does it really mean? Nothing!

Does it simply mean that in Christ dwells all the fullness of Deity
as non-KJV translations render it? That, too, would be redundant--or it
would detract from the Deity of Christ. For if Christ is intrinsically
God, then what is the point of saying that "in Him dwells all the
fullness of Deity"? Of course it does! But if Christ is the Son and
there are two other persons in the Godhead, then it does mean
something. It means that just as Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One
God, so when the Son became man He brought that fullness of the Godhead
with Him into flesh.

In Rom. 1:20 Paul argues that God's "eternal power and Godhead" are
seen in the creation He made. God's eternal power--but His Godhead?
Yes, as Dr. Wood pointed out years ago in The Secret of the Universe,
the triune nature of God is stamped on His creation. The cosmos is
divided into three; Space, Matter and time. Each of these is divided
into three. Space, for instance, is composed of length, breadth and
width, each separate and distinct in itself, yet the three are one.
Length, breadth and width are not three spaces, but three dimensions
comprising one space. Run enough lines length-wise and you take in the
whole. But so it is with the width and height. Each is separate and
distinct, yet each is all of space--just as the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit is each God.

Time also is a trinity: past, present and future -- two invisible
and one visible. Each is separate and distinct, yet each is the whole.
Matter is also a trinity and two invisibles and one visible; energy and
motion, which manifest in phenomena. Man himself is a tri-unity of
spirit, sour and body, two of which are invisible, one visible. Many
more details could be given of the Godhead's tri-unity reflected in the
universe. It can hardly be coincidence.

The Hebrew word Elohim (Gods) occurs about 2, 500 times in the Old
Testament, while the singular form only occurs 250 times and most of
those designate false gods. Gen. 1:1 reads, "In the beginning, Elohim
created the heaven and the earth"--i.e. literally, "GODS created the
heaven and the earth." Though a single with few exceptions, singular
verbs and pronouns are used with his plural noun. Why?

At the burning bush it was Elohim [GODS] who spoke to Moses. yet
Elohim did not say, "We are that we are," but "I AM THAT I AM" (Exod.
3:14). One cannot escape the fact that all through the Bible God is
presented as a plurality and yet as one, as having both diversity and
unity. This is unique among all the world's religions! To reject the
Trinity is to reject the God of the Bible.

The New Testament presents three Persons who are distinct, yet each
is recognized as God. At the same time we have repeatedly the clear
statement that there is only one true God. Christ prays to the Father.
Himself Worse yet, did one "office" pray to and send a "title"? Father,
Son and Holy Spirit each has distinct functions, yet each works only in
conjunction with the others. Christ said, "The words that I speak unto
you I speak not of myself [on my own initiative]: but the Father that
dwelleth in me, he doeth the works:(Jn 14:10); "I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter--even the Spirit of truth"
(Jn.: 14:16-17). Throughout the New Testament Father, Son and Holy
Spirit are each separately honored and act as God, yet only in concert
with one another.

The Old Testament also presents three persons in the Godhead
interacting. For example: "Hearken unto me, O Jacob of Israel, my
called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. Mine hand also
hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned
the heavens--from the time that it was, there am I: and the Lord God,
and his Spirit, hath sent me"(Isaiah 48:12-16). The one speaking
through Isaiah refers to Himself a "the first and the last" and the
Creator of all, so He must be God. But he speaks of two others in the
same passage who must also be God: "the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath
sent me." Jesus presented a similar passage to the Pharisees (Matt.
22:41-46) when He asked them who the Messiah was, and they said, "The
Son of David." He then quoted: "The LORD said unto my Lord, sit thou on
my right hand, till I make thine enemy thy footstool" (Psalm 110:1)
then Jesus asked them: "If David then call him Lord, how is he his
son?" the Pharisees were speechless. Unitarianism cannot explain these
two "Lords".

   It is a mystery how God can exist in three persons yet be one God;
but it is also a mystery how God could have no beginning and create
everything out of nothing. We can't understand what a human soul or
spirit is. Nor can we explain love or beauty or justice. It is beyond
human capacity to comprehend the full nature of God's being. But
neither can we understand what it means for us anything else to exist--
nor can we comprehend what space is or what time is or matter is. For
every door science opens, there are ten more unopened doors on the
other side. The more we learn, the more rapidly the unknown expands
before us like receding images in a hall of mirrors. The Jehovah's
Witnesses and other Unitarians argue that because the Trinity can't be
understood it can't be. But the fact that it is beyond human
comprehension is no reason for rejecting what the Bible so consistently
presents to us. God is telling us about Himself so we can believe in
and know him. We dare not reject what he says or lower it to the level
of our finite minds.

Psychic Dies Trying To Halt Oncoming Train: MOSCOW (AP)-E.Frenkel,
one of the Soviet Union's growing number of psychic healers and
mentalists, claimed he used his powers to stop bicycles, automobiles
and streetcars.

He thought he was ready for something bigger, so he stepped in front
of a freight train. It didn't work.

The engineer of the train that ran over Frenkel and killed him said
the psychic stepped on to the tracts with his arms raised, his head
lowered and his body tensed.

Glasnost Arrives On TV With Faith Healer, UFOs: MOSCOW (AP) -
Headless aliens from space have invaded, a huge hairy creature is
terrifying villagers and a UFO has landed in the capital.

Headlines from the National Enquirer? Guess again..

Although Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev"s reforms have not spawned
supermarket tabloids, his policy of glasnost (openness) has pushed its
way into the Soviet media.

The change is most evident on statrun television -something that
used to be a showcase for morally uplifting but dull movie about
building communism.

Not anymore. Now, six days a week as part of the breakfast TV
program 120 Minutes, gray-haired mystic Alan Chumak waves his hands on
camera to cure viewers of whatever ails them.

Soviets with heart disease are requested to watch the self-described
journalist on Tuesday. On Fridays, Chumak helps viewers get rid of
allergies.

The afflicted do not even have to watch the program to get help.
Leave the set on and a jar of water, juice or massage cream placed by
the screen will be "charged" by Chumak's gestures and can be used later
for treatment.

It is not just television that has changed.

Socialist Industry, with a circulation of 1 million, is an organ of
the party's central committee and has a mandate to report on the Soviet
economy. But often it makes space for stories that have nothing to do
with either socialism or industry.

Recently, for instance, there was an account of invaders from space
landing in central Russia's Perm region.

Campus Bans Bible Group GUELPH - The University of Guelph has banned
the University Bible Studies club from campus, calling its activities
"a serious affront to individual rights and the university's values."

The university investigated the Christian group, founded in 1976,
after a complaint from a Windsor-area alumni "who had basically lost
his daughter" to the group, said student association president Marty
Williams.

A group of administrators and students "concluded that allegations
of coercive proselytization, authoritarianism and subservience of women
were real, " a statement said.

The club, which has about 30 members, was given 48 hours Wednesday
to vacate the office it shares with a Roman Catholic group and a Jewish
group. Campus police have been instructed to remove any club members
who resume activities, Williams said.

"It's a shock to us. We were the last to know, " said the club's
campus representative, Scott Mohr, 25, a graduate of the university.

The club has sent a letter to university president Brian Segal,
asking him to repeal the decision.

"We're asking him for the chance to say something, " Mohr said, "We
haven't heard anything for two years, and then we get this."

Mohr denied all accusations and said, "We're just regular
Christians."

United Church Reports Bible Not Literal Work

A United Church document that affirms the authority of the Bible but
rejects any literal interpretation of Scripture is to be released
officially this month.

There were fears that the long-awaited Authority and Interpretation
of Scripture study document would question some basic Christian tenets
and so throw Canada's largest Protestant denomination into yet another
long, acrimonious debate.

The church's national magazine calls the 49 page document a
carefully balanced approach to the Bible and its interpretation, very
much in keeping with orthodox United Church theology.

"The divinity of Christ is not questioned in the report, nor are
there any bombshells", reports an article in the October issue of the
United Church Observer.

The Observer says the committee of nine clergy and four lay people,
who spent almost three years producing the document, concludes that the
church must affirm "the Bible is not just a product of human
initiative."

The committee says the United Church upholds the view that God's
spirit was active in formation of Scripture, but it does so without
accepting "the dictation theory of initiative."

Rejecting any literal interpretation of Scripture, the committee
says Scripture is the primary but not the only authority for
determining God's truth and that the church has always considered
tradition, reason and experience in its examination of Scripture.

In an interview with the Observer, Rev. Hal Llewellyn, the United
Church's secretary for theology and faith and a committee member, said
anyone who takes a fundamentalist or literalist approach to reading the
Bible will be disappointed in the document.

Is The Word of God Wrong About Homosexuality

Pro-homosexual politicians and evangelicals-As the AIDS epidemic
runs rampant, Jesse Jackson and big-city mayors (e.g . Richard Daley,
Chicago) march/parade for "gay rights". The New York State Supreme
Court recently ruled that gay couples should be included in the legal
definition of a family. NY Mayor Ed Koch last month gave bereavement
leave to city workers whose "domestic partners" die, as part of a trend
toward mainstream acceptance of homosexuality.

Homosexuals liked Surgeon General Koop who put the privacy of AIDS
patients above the public health, and advocated "safe sodomy".

Evangelical schools (eg. Wheaton) and magazines (eg Christianity
Today) have at times been supportive of homosexuals. The 8/18 CT had
two long articles somewhat along these lines-one by Wheaton
psychologist Stephen Jones, and one by CT Senior writer Tim Stafford
who has long written for YFC's Campus Life. In the 10/2/87 CT, Stafford
wrote: "The real question is not what Paul thought about homosexual
behavior, but whether he was correct. Is homosexuality truly 'against
nature' when studies Show its prevalence in so many societies?" In
other words, "Yea, hath God said...?" Evangelicals" question God, not
Paul.

The AIDS Plague Hits Teen Heterosexuals

The AIDS epidemic clearly has reached teenage heterosexuals, growing
evidence shows.

The most ominous signs are in New York City, where the epidemic is
most advanced, says Dr. Karen Hein, director of a program that serves
and studies teens with AIDS.

"The very heterosexual epidemic everyone says has not occurred in
the adult population has occurred among teenage girls in New York City,
"says Hein, who spoke at a meeting sponsored by the American Academy of
Pediatrics.

Hein pointed to danger signs picked up by several recent New York
state and city studies:

   * 1 in 100 19-year-old women giving birth statewide is infected with
the AIDS virus, as are 1 in 1,000 15-year-olds.

   * Half of the city's teen-age girls with AIDS say they got infected
by having sex with males.

   * State researchers found about 6 percent of homeless boys and girls
at one city shelter were infected.

   * One city health clinic found 26 percent of sexually active teen-
age girls had tried anal sex--the most risky sexual practice for males
and females.

   CBS Head Wants Kinkier Programming

Howard Stringer, president of the CBS Broadcast Group and CBS
television's highest ranking official, said he is disappointed that the
amount of sex and violence on television will be reduced this coming
season. The reduction comes as a result of efforts by Christian Leaders
for Responsible Television.

Stringer told Tom Jicha of the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel: "It
makes me nervous that more shows don't reach out on a kinkier level, or
a more dramatic, or exotic level."

   Christian-Bashing

In Pat Buchanan's "It's Hollywood vs Christians, " he calls certain
evil blasphemous scenes in the Last Temptation of Christ to be without
foundation in the Bible..."A salacious, sleazy stunt" and he questions
whether the President of the Motion Picture Association, Jack Valenti,
who defends the film, would defend a file depicting Martin Luther King
as a relentless womanizer, or one portraying Anne Frank as a "oversexed
teenager fantasizing at Auschetwz or romancing some SS guards."

He answers: "Of course not. We live in an age where the ridicule of
Blacks is forbidden, where anti-Semitism is punishable by political
death, but where Christian-bashing is a popular indoor sport and films
mocking Jesus Christ are considered avant-grade...with "The Last
Temptation of Christ" Hollywood is assaulting the Christian community
in a way it would never dare assault the Black community, the Jewish
community or the gay community. And the reason Universal Pictures and
Mr. Scorsese are doing this because they know they can get away with
it."

Qaddafi Says All Arabs Must Become Muslims

Libya's Col. Muammar Qaddafi has provided a lengthy interview to Al-
Moukif al-Arabi, a weekly published in Nicosia, Cyprus, in which he
claims that peace in Lebanon will not be achieved until all the
Lebanesse Christians are conquered and forcibly converted to Islam.

"The mistake is due to the present of Arab Christians, " said
Qaddafi. "An Arab must not be a Christian."

Qaddafi added that "Arabs must fight against each other until they
adopt Islam" and suggested that a Jihad should be waged in Egypt, Syria
and Iraq to forcibly convert the non-Muslim Arabs who have clung for
centuries to the Coptic, Maronite and other branches of Christianity.

"If God called you to run, then why did you fail to get the Republican

and King of Israel: why did He fail the first time around and get
crucified?" It is heresy to say Jesus failed (see Rev. 13:8)."

   THE U.F.O. CRAZE:

Is the World being set up for some incredible deception ?

The U.F.O. craze is making its way from the tabloids to the
mainstream daily's. Below are two recent reports.

SOVIET NEWS AGENCY REPORTS UFO LANDING

This report appeared on the front page of papers all over North
America on October 10, 1989:

MOSCOW (AP) - The official Soviet news agency Tass said October 9
that scientists have confirmed the landing in Russia of an alien
spaceship carrying giant people with tiny heads.

The report was the latest strange tale in the official Soviet media,
which under the policy of glasnost, or openness, have recently told of
other sightings and unidentified flying objects and alien creatures.

"Scientists have confirmed that an unidentified flying object
recently landed in a park in the Russian city of Voronezh, "Tass said
in a dispatch from the city, some 480 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

"They have also identified the landing site and found traces of
aliens who make a short promenade about the park."

Tass said Voronezh residents saw a large shining ball or disk
hovering over the park. They reported that the UFO landed and up to
three creatures similar to humans emerged, accompanied by a small
robot, Tass said.

"The aliens, were three or even four meters tall, but with very
small heads, "the news agency quoted witnesses as saying. "They walked
near the ball or disc and then disappeared inside."

The report was similar to a story last summer in the daily newspaper
Socialist Industry, which tole of a purported "close encounter" between
a milkmaid and an alien in central Russia's Perm region.

THOSE MYSTERIOUS RINGS LONDON, England (EP) -

"Whorled wheat", mysterious circular patterns of fallen wheat straw
that have appeared this summer in the field of England, have many in
the kingdom curious and concerned, including Queen Elizabeth. The Queen
reportedly has read Circular Evidence, a British best seller that
attempts to explain the appearance of the 242 whorls, some of them more
that 50 feet across. One of the authors contends that the whorled wheat
might be a message from "the spiritual or paranormal area" warning of
coming doom. Some have theorized that the shorls are the work of UFO's
or crazed hedgehogs. Meteorologists explain that whirlwinds caused
them. The Queen reportedly asked Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher what
she thinks of the mysterious shorls, but Thatcher has not disclosed her
theory.

   ARE UFOS IMPORTANT ?

It is important for us to keep an eye on the UFO craze for a number
of reasons.

   1. Their sightings are usually associated with occult phenonomen,
spirit guides and the accompanying visions of a new spirituality and a
new world order. According to UFO researcher Keith Thompson: "While the
debate between true believers on both sides of the UFO question presses
on...our personal and collective belief systems have been changing...
Without really having to admit to ourselves, the human mythological
structure has been undergoing a fundamental shift."

   2. The possibility of a close encounter is being recognized a
powerful tool in bringing the peoples of the world together in a sense
community. As Ronald Reagan put it: In our obsession with antagonisms
of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of
humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal treat to make us
recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our
differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat
from outside this world" (Before the U.N. September 21, 1987).

   THE ONE-WORLD CHURCH DRAWS CLOSER:

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie, calls on all Christians
to recognize the Pope of Rome as their Leader!

One of the key elements of the New World Order of the Antichrist is
a single worldwide apostate religion.

Many believe that this is the Roman Catholic Church based on
Revelation 17. The Catholic Church will most certainly be a part of
that one-world religion but the Bible teaches that:

"All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (Antichrist), whose
names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world."

   Revelation 13:8

Another step in this direction was proposed by the Archbishop of
Canterbury, Robert Runcie on September 31, 1989.

   According to the Associated Press:

"Archbishop Robert Runcie, head of the Anglican church, has called
for all Christians to accept the Pope as a common leader presiding in
love."

"Runcie made the appeal...(at) the Vatican where he is discussing
unification with the Roman Catholic Church.

"Could not all Christians come to reconsider the kind of primacy the
bishop of Rome (Pope) exercised within the early church, a presiding in
love for the sake of the unity of the churches in the diversity of
their mission?"

In response to criticism, Runcie said the role would be largely
symbolic. However, according to the San Francisco Examiner "The Pope
said that the office of the papacy could not be merely symbolic"
(89/1001). The Pope said:

"Today the divisions among Christian require that the primacy of the
Bishop of Rome (pope) should also be a primacy in action and initiative
in favor of that unity for which Christ so earnestly prayed."

"Robert Runcie has also called for a recognition of the "common
spirit at the center of all faiths" including Buddhism, Hinduism,
Taoism and Christianity. He hosted the first Global Forum at Oxford
last year bringing together religious and political leaders from dozens
of faiths and political systems in an effort to bring forth a new
order'.

The Pope has also been active in bringing together many different
faiths in the name of peach on this earth.

   The Anti-Christian Vision of Tel-a-Vision

The most powerful tool in the world today is the mass-media. It is
the media that makes the rapid transformation to the New World Order
possible. But most importantly it is the media that will be the focal
point in turning the whole world against Christ as prophesied in the
Word of God !

One of the puzzles to prophetic scholars over the years has been the
question of how the whole world's thinking will be changed and unified
in a very short period of time to accept the New World order of the
Antichrist.

Even with the monumental changes of the past few years there is
still a great distance to go in picturing a single world government, a
single world economy and single world religion which worships the
antichrist and martyrs Christians.

In centuries gone by such major change would take decades and
decades to come to pass. However, the prophetic Word of God seems to
indicate that these events will happen very quickly (for as a snare
shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the earth-Luke
21:35).

In past issues we have discussed the events that could quickly
change the thinking of the whole world at once. The rapture of the
church will certainly be a large part of it. A "U.F.O." landing could
achieve a similar effect or compound the deception. The point is that
the deception will be so universal and so convincing that the Bible
says that even the elect would be deceived if it were possible.

One of the developments peculiar to this generation that makes
sudden and widespread change possible is the emergence of instantaneous
worldwide media coverage.

The recent San Francisco earthquake is a perfect example of this.
Moments after the quake I could sit thousands of miles away in North
Bay, Ontario, Canada and along with the rest of the world be
captivated, moved and drawn in as part of the disaster. I held my
breath during the fire in the marina district and cheered as they
pulled Buck Helm from Highway 880. The point is that it is the
technological power of the media that can now draw the whole world
emotionally together at once. It is this power that can play a large
tole in uniting the world into a New World Order almost instantaneously
in the days ahead. Imagine the media spectacular if a U.F.O. landed.
Imagine the identical spectacular if it were faked! Imagine Ted Koppel
trying to provide immediate coverage to the rapture. The whole world
would watch events unfold together! They will seek answers together!
They will open to some ultimate deception together! Such is the power
of today's media.

In this report we want to try to bring together the various aspects
of the role that media is playing in bringing forth the New World
Order. To do so let us first look at the media's power to shape change
and determine if they are actively seeking to do so. In this report we
will largely limit ourselves to the most powerful media tool which is
tell-a- vision.

Media: The world's arteries of poison

There would be few honest observers who could say that the
increasing instances of violence, lawlessness, promiscuity and
immorality have not been spurred on by the endless scenes of murder,
adultery and the rest that constantly emanate from the television that
most Americans now watch for 7 hours a day. That's right, 7 (seven)
hours a day.

However, the power of television to speed social change is not
limited to morality. The recent peace offensives, proclaiming the
collapse of communism, now assure night after night on the evening news
that the Soviet Union is no longer enemy but troubled friend. Graphic
footage and dramatic pronouncement and concessions used with Madison
Avenue precision have overwhelmed Americans into an acceptance of the
Soviet promises. Without the convincing media hype such an occurrence
would have taken many years or decades to unfold. And in turn those
years would have forced the East Block to prove their sincerity. But
with the power of the media change is so quick that time has been lost.

As we reported in the June Omega-Letter, The Honorable Jesse Helms,
(U.S. Sen. North Caroline) put it this way:

"Who can deny that the American people and Congress have been
subjected to an unprecedented campaign by the major American news media
to portray Mr. Gorbachev as a benign reformer whose only desire is
openness and restructuring in Soviet domestic affairs and normal
relations with the United States? How often have we heard about
"glasnost" and "perestroika?"
