GAY:AIDS carrier killed in Brazil after deliberately spreading AIDS

While little is being done in the United States to stop the spread
of AIDS, a story from Brazil illustrates what may take place in the
near future in America. It is a tragic, but all too real possibility.
Perhaps, if enough of our people will demand proper information be
given on AIDS and that proper steps be taken to protect the public,
such terrible actions will be avoided.

DOCUMENTATION: San Jose Mercury News, July 22, 1987 RIO DE JANEIRO,
Brazil -- A crowd of onlookers surrounded a man who was said to have
intentionally spread AIDS, and three gunmen killed him on a street
here, it was reported....About 100 people watched as the gunmen pumped
pistol shots into their victim, 30, who had been hooded, bound, and
forced to lie on the pavement. The killers put a sign on the man's body
reading: "I no longer spread AIDS. I was one of three sexual criminals
who made this district unsafe." Several women and men have been raped
here recently. The rapists were reported each time to have said: "We
are dying of AIDS. But we will not die alone."

This is an example of anarchy in the streets. It seems that Brazil
has no more of a plan to combat AIDS than does the United States. The
population must be protected from the virus. It has been predicted that
as more and more victims of AIDS die the probability of blood terrorism
and sexual terrorism will increase. Already on the West Coast, one man
having AIDS has knowingly given blood under false names. The killing in
Brazil is the result of the failure to take proper public health steps.
This "I won't die alone" attitude has been called the "Doc Holliday
Syndrome." Doc Holliday had tuberculosis. Before he died he tried to
give it to as many other people as he could. AIDS victims surely should
be cared for, but the public has a right to be protected. Having AIDS
does not confer the right to infect others or to expose other to
infection. The acts that spread AIDS are performed by those who have
AIDS. "Safe sex" is not "AIDS sex."

The last verse of Romans 1 speaks directly to the issue: "Who (homo-
sexuals) knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such
things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in
them that do them."

Jesus Christ and His Word are the solution to the AIDS epidemic.
