INS:Proverbs: a brief outline

I.  INTRODUCTION

     A.  AUTHORS:  David, Solomon, Lemuel and Agur.
          -  Prov  1-9 primarily written by DAVID to his children in
          general and to Solomon in particular.
          -  Prov  10-24  Composed by Solomon on  miscellaneous
          topics  for Life.
          -  Prob 25:1-29 is a collection of SOLOMON's proverbs put
          together by Hezekiah and his men.
          -  Prov 30 is a single discourse by AGUR, son of YAKEH.
          -  Prov 31 are said to have been written by an anonymous
          prince named LEMUEL.

     B.  DATE:  MOST of it was written around 950-930 BC

     C.  SETTING:
          The setting is the Royal Court of Solomon in Jerusalem, and
          in particular the WISDOM SCHOOL that Solomon founded in the
          Court.

          11.  All Hebrew Poetry is based on the DISTICH, not on
