ORG:Could the Miracles Christ performed prove His is the Creator? by Bill Bennett

Could the Miracles of Jesus Christ have any bearing on His claim to
Deity, and do they in fact verify that Jesus Christ IS in fact GOD, the
Creator; as He claimed to be in John 10:30 and numerous other verses in
the Bible?

The Basic elements of Biblical Creationism are:

   1. Instantaneousness or suddenness - a massive acceleration of time
over the normal processes.

   2. A massive increase in complexity during this short period of time.

When God made Adam, He started with dust and made man, fully formed.
When Jesus changed water into wine, He likewise, started with a simple
solution and changed it into a complex solution. This increase in
complexity is characteristic of Biblicial Creationism.

Examine any of the 35 or so miracles given in the Gospels. Each
miracle our Lord did was sudden, observable, and completed in most
cases instantaneously. So was the Creation of the world, as it was done
in 6 segments. By a simple Word, what was not.....became something
physical, tangible, measurable in a time & space continuum.

Looking at the wedding feast at Cana, we can clearly see this same
creation type of miracle taking place. Water which consists of H2O, or
three simple atoms was turned into C6H12O6 *plus* even more atoms and
molecules that make up the flavor of the wine. (that is fructose, the
sugar found in grape juice). This was not only the creation of BILLIONS
of carbon atoms, but also - arranging them into very complex molecules
found in the juice. Now if in fact it was ACTUAL alcoholic wine, we
have even a greater complexity of molecules AND flavors! But most
important, NONE DENIED the SUDDENNESS of the creation and
transformation of the water into the wine.

Take the miracles of feeding the 4000 and 5000 as another example.
In this case, we have the sudden creation of BOTH plant and animal
matter.....again, with 4000 & 5000 witnesses to back it all up. It's
pretty hard to hypnotize or convince parents and their children that
their not hungry and were just fed, unless it really had taken place.
Not to mention the poor guy who had his lunch box raided, only to see
more than he could carry home - returning to the feet of Jesus! Again,
NONE DENIED the SUDDENNESS of the creation of the bread or fish. They
had just finished eating it, not thinking about it!

We don't know if the fish were living or dead in the previous case,
but that is really irrelevant, because Christ DOES again give ample
evidence to His claim to the Creator with the resurrection of Lazarus.
Lazarus had been DEAD 4 DAYS, and the body had been in a sealed tomb.
The decay process had already begun, hence, Martha warned Jesus of the
stench waiting just the other side of the rock which blocked the tomb.
The decay process involves a breakdown of every cell of the body,
beginning at the moment of death. These complex biological compounds,
proteins, amino acids, blood cells, fluids, etc. ALL were by 4 days
inoperative, and useless to a living person. (Would you want a
transfusion from a man dead & decomposing 4 days? His blood can hardly
be called blood any more!)

With ample witnesses, and skeptics present, Jesus, with only a few
WORDS - calls Lazarus back to life. This involved, in essence, the
re-creation of EVERY CELL of Lazarus's body all the way back to its
previous complexity, and at the same time, the restoration of his full
mental capabilities! Lazarus walked out of the tomb bound up in linen
cloth, a very difficult feat just to get up, not to mention balance,
and upright movement. He also knew where he was, and which direction to
walk......fully educated, with only three words! The witnesses were all
present, and again, NONE DENIED the SUDDEN Re-creation of Lazarus was
SUDDEN and COMPLETE. The stench gone too!

What is truly remarkable, is "in a moment, in the twinkling of an
eye" (1 Corinthians 15:52), millions of people will be literally
created from the dust, ashes, and depths of the sea! As Adam was
created "of the dust of the ground", we too may be created from the
'dust of decay'! The resurrection of the believers will look like an
'instant replay' of the creation of Adam in Genesis!

Would Jesus have been credible if he calmed the Sea of Galilee over
a 6 or 48 hour period of time? No, I venture to say, every one of the
Apostles would have left Jesus pronto, or stoned Him, if a even a
SINGLE claim or supposed 'miracle' didn't SUDDENLY and COMPLETELY come
to pass. These Apostles are not stupid men. Even Peter, a fisherman all
his life, was not going to be fooled but some magician. He knew a storm
when he was in one, and this was a BAD one! But Jesus with a WORD,
suddenly changed a low pressure cell over the Sea of Galilee into a
high pressure system. The air stopped violent movement - not blew away
the storm; and the waves stopped churning and filling the boat. It
would have take Peter about 2 seconds to wipe the water out of his eyes
to see a calm Sea of Galilee, and a feel his wet sandals standing in a
boat half full of cold water. We can generate electric power from
moving water; can you imagine the amount of POWER it took to stop the
whole Sea of Galilee in a second and with only a WORD? But again NONE
DENIED the miracle was SUDDEN and complete.

Now if God wanted to make a lasting impression on man, do you think
He would use millions of years, or weeks or even hours - to do
something that could later be explained away by 'natural processes'?
