Thank you for purchasing the Alpha & Omega Disk Version 1. This disk is a collection of shareware programs and Christian files. About 1/3 of its close to 10,000 files are Christian files. The shareware files are dated from 1990 on. The vast majority of these files came from EXEC-PC. We cannot guarantee that all of the files are virus free, so it is up to you (and your users if on a bbs) to check these files with a virus detection program before running them. We assume no responsibility for files that are contaminated. By using this disk you agree to this term. If a virus is found in any file please let us know and we will delete it from any further releases, as well as notify others. We also did our best to keep commercial software from being placed on the disk, however due to the large number of files this is not always possible. Any commercial software that is on the disk was not put there intentionally. Once again if commercial or pirated software is found on the disk please let us know so we can take care of it. There are also few if any gif or any other type of picture files on the disk, and there should be no x-rated software on the disk. If there is then it is by accident. All files on the cdrom disk are broken down into categories in various sub-directories. The file CATEGORI.ES lists what these categories are. Each sub-directory has in it a files.bbs that gives the descriptions for the files in that directory so it can be used with a bbs program that uses files.bbs. We did our best to insure that every file on the disk has a description, but some may have slipped through. The vast majority of the files on the disk are in the ZIP format. However some of the files are ARJ and LZH. These are the Christian files we got from 2 other Christian bbs's, and we did not have the time to weed out dupes in the time alloted so we re-compressed them using these other two formats. Future releases of the disk (if there are any) will have these dupes weeded out. The cdrom door program CdCom can be found in the HIS990 sub-directory as CDCOM.ZIP. This program will allow you to download files (or copy files) from the cdrom disk and search/read/list by category the files listings for the disk. The door can be run either locally or from a bbs software program. See the cdcom.doc file for more information on this. The only bbs specific file the door uses (if being run as a door from a bbs) is the callinfo.bbs user information file. Any decent conversion program can make one from the door information file(s) your bbs creates if you do not run wildcat. SPECIAL OFFER: If you have purchased this disk from us you can register the CdCom door program for only $5.00 (normally $25). The passkey number you will get will work with all future versions of the door program. Just fill out the REGISTER.DOC file in the cdcom.zip and send it to the address listed in the file. Be sure to let us know you purchased the disk from us so we can check our records and verify the special offer registration price. This offer has no time limit. This disk is our first attempt at making a shareware type of cdrom disk. If you are wondering why there are so many directories, it is because in order to keep the cdrom mastering costs down directories need to have 200 files or less in them. If there are more than 200 files in a directory the copying time begins to go up. At $150/hr for this time, you can see why it is smart to follow this rule. Unfortunately it makes the disk look a little messy, and harder to set up on a bbs. The CdCom door program can handle the disk no problem however if you want to go this route. If there is sufficent response with this disk then we will continue to put out low cost cdrom disks. We hope you are satisfied with the disk. Bob Harris & Eric Schonning
