Overview:
Security applications are those programs intended to
keep other's eyes off of your files. Whether you just don't want someone looking at
private documents on your computer, or you want to be able to trade things privately
through email, there's some program with what you want. These programs, by nature, are
complex, and caution is suggested. At the least, read the readme files.
Several of the files here are "front-ends" for use with PGP, or
"Pretty Good Protection". Freeware PGP is not only one of the most secure forms
of encryption available, but also special in several other ways. It's most unique feature
is that PGP allows you to encrypt a file to a person's publicly known "public
key" yet only they are able to decrypt the file, thus eliminating the need to
securely trade passwords. Due to strange import and export restrictions that have been put
on this program, TUCOWS is unable to put PGP online, as each of our mirrors would
constitute an illegal import or export. As such, we put up links to the primary
distribution sites for PGP...

In US or Canada: MIT Distribution Site
for PGP
Outside the US or Canada: International PGP
