WebRite Beta Version 0.13 Documentation.
01/23/96

This product is a fully functional BETA copy of the WebRite HTML Editor. It was developed in Borland's Delphi Client/Server version 1.0.

To use the Frames features you must be using at least Netscape Navigator v2.0.
You can get a Beta copy at "http://home.com/".

You may use this product free-of-charge for 30 days. You must register to get the Final version that doesn't have the annoying registration reminder and which will have more features and documentation.

I am planning to charge US$10.00 for this product. The fee will actually be an indicator of user interest in WebRite and will help pay for development costs of the next, bigger and better version.

I am still working out the details for the registration procedure. Please continue to check out my Web site for furthur BETA version and information on how to register.

My Web site is located at : "http://www.earthlink.net/~jalerta/index.html"

Installation and Use :

All the files needed are in the WebRitXX.zip file. These are:

   WebRite.exe --- WebRite executable.
   Readme.txt ---	This file.
blank.html --- HTML file needed for pre-defined Frame
                              documents.
   clds3.jpg ---	Background graphic for pre-defined Frame
                              documents.

To use this product just create a directory on your hard drive called 'WEBRITE' and copy the zipped file into it.

After unzipping the file you will find the WebRite.exe and
Readme.txt files in the WEBRITE directory along with the blank.html and
clds3.jpg files. The blank.html file and the clds3.jpg file are needed
if you plan to use the Netscape Frames features of this product. These 2
files MUST be located in the directory that you are saving the Frames
HTML documents that you are developing.

You are now ready to use WebRite.

Features :

Netscape Frames -- Build your own Frames documents or use the
                         pre-defined Frames templates.

Font Colors -- Specify the colors of text in your documents by
clicking on the color in a color-grid.

Tables -- Build tables by choosing the number of rows and columns
                in the table.

      Full HTML 3.0 support.

      Supports Netscape 2.0 Extensions.

Easy access to Tags using Right Mouse buttons' PopUp Menu.

Known Bugs :

      1. There is a 32 Kb limit on the size of files that the editor
can open. This is due to a limit in the file size that a TMemo
      component can hold.

      2. You can't do a drag-and-copy ( by holding down the CTRL key)
in the File Manager yet. To do a copy you will have to use the
      dropdown menu for now.

      3. Sometimes choosing a Drive Tab in the File Manager does not
repaint the whole Directory Outline. You get the root drive letter
but you don't see the subdirectories.

These bugs all seem to be Delphi related but I'm working on
      finding fixes for them.

Version 0.11 Features : (01/09/96)

All Editor windows will now maximize on opening.

I have included a history of the last 9 files opened.

Version 0.12 Features : (01/22/96)

You can now enable/disable the creation of *.BAK backup files by
checking the checkbox in Options | Preferences.

There is now an integrated File Manager to allow you to manage
      files within the program.

Version 0.13 Features : (01/23/96)

I have cleaned up the Dialogs that deal with TAGs.

I have added more features to the Table creation Dialog.

I have added a new Frame Template that created a box in the
center of a Netscape browser document. Pretty neat, if I may
      say so!

TIPS :

WebRite makes use of the Right Mouse button to give you easy access to commonly used
HTML tags. You access a PopUp Menu by right-clicking on the mouse while in any open
   editor window.

To access the Pre-Defined Frames Dialog use the Right Mouse button PopUp Menu and choose
TAGs / Document Types / FRAMESET. Check the Frames radio button to enable the pre-defined
   Frame buttons.

If you get a blank page while developing Netscape Frames documents, check to see that
the files 'blank.html' and 'clsd3.jpg' are in the same directory as the Frames HTML
   document that you are developing.

To be able to view the HTML documents that you produce you while you work you must first
set the location of your Netscape browser in the Options Menu choice.
